• சித்திரங்குடி பறவைகள் சரணாலயம் / CHITRANGUDI BIRD SANCTUARY: சித்திரங்குடி பறவைகள் சரணாலயம் தமிழ்நாட்டின் ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த ஈரநிலம் 1989 முதல் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட பகுதியாக உள்ளது. 
• மேலும் பறவைகள் சரணாலயமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இது தமிழ்நாடு வனத்துறை, ராமநாதபுரம் கோட்டத்தின் அதிகார வரம்பிற்கு உட்பட்டது. சித்ரங்குடி பறவைகள் சரணாலயம் குளிர்காலத்தில் புலம்பெயர்ந்த பறவைகளுக்கு ஏற்ற இடமாகும். 
• 30 குடும்பங்களைச் சேர்ந்த சுமார் 50 பறவைகள் தளத்தில் இருந்து பதிவாகியுள்ளன. இவற்றில் 47 நீர்ப் பறவைகள் மற்றும் 3 நிலப்பறவைகள். ஸ்பாட்-பில்ட் பெலிகன், லிட்டில் எக்ரெட், கிரே ஹெரான், பெரிய எக்ரேட், ஓபன் பில்ட் நாரை, ஊதா மற்றும் குளம் ஹெரான்கள் தளப் பகுதியில் போன்ற நீர்ப்பறவைகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. 
• சித்திரங்குடி விவசாய வயல்களால் சூழப்பட்டுள்ளது, இங்கு ஆண்டு முழுவதும் பல்வேறு பயிர்கள் விளைகின்றன. பல மீன்கள், நீர்வாழ் பூச்சிகள் மற்றும் அவற்றின் லார்வாக்கள் ஆகியவை நீர்ப்பறவைகளுக்கு நல்ல உணவு ஆதாரங்களை உருவாக்குகின்றன. 
• விவசாய நோக்கங்களுக்காக சதுப்பு நிலத்தை சுற்றியும் உள்ளேயும் பாசனத்திற்காக நிலத்தடி நீர் எடுக்கப்படுகிறது.

ENGLISH

• CHITRANGUDI BIRD SANCTUARY: Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary is located in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. This wetland has been a protected area since 1989. Also declared as a bird sanctuary. 
• It comes under the jurisdiction of Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Ramanathapuram division. Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary is an ideal destination for migratory birds in winter. About 50 birds belonging to 30 families have been reported from the site. 
• Out of these 47 are water birds and 3 are land birds. Spot-billed pelicans, little egrets, gray herons, great egrets, open-billed storks, purple and pond herons can be found at the site.
• Chitrangudi is surrounded by agricultural fields where various crops are grown throughout the year. Many fish, aquatic insects and their larvae make good food sources for waterfowl. Groundwater is drawn for irrigation around and within wetlands for agricultural purposes.
