Passage of Labor Law Amendment Bill to increase working hours to 12 hours in private companies
- The central government brought changes in the labor laws, raising the working hours to 12 hours in private companies. Following this, Minister Ganesan tabled this amendment bill in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
- At that time, DMK's allies, including Congress, Liberation Tigers of India, Madhyamik Party, Marxist Communist Party and Communist Party of India, strongly opposed the increase in working hours. However, amid strong protests, the amendment bill was passed by voice vote.
- REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Union Ministry of Electricity, yesterday handed over KPS1 Transmission Company, a special purpose vehicle created for the construction of the transmission project, to Mega Engineering & Infrastructure. RECPDCL has successfully handed over 52 transmission projects worth Rs.70,974 crore with the commissioning of this company.
- Mr. Rahul Dwivedi, Chief Executive Officer of RECPDCL handed over the SPV to Mr. Pravin Sharad Dikshit, Vice Chairman, Mega Engineering & Infrastructures Limited.
- MEGA ENGINEERING & INFRASTRUCTURES LTD. It is the successful bidder for the Inter-State Transmission Project of the Ministry of Electricity, Government of India.
- The work includes 765 kV double circuit line and expansion of Kawda PS1. A target of 21 months has been set for implementation of the scheme.
- Union Health Ministry's National Covid-19 Vaccine Program gets Prime Minister's Award 2022 for Excellence in Public Administration in the category of Innovation. Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Rajesh Bhushan received the award from the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi at a function held on the occasion of the 16th Civil Service Day at Vigyan Bhavan today.
