• உலக மக்கள் தொகை குறித்த ஐ.நா அறிக்கை 2023 / UN REPORT ON WORLD POPULATION 2023: உலக மக்கள் தொகை எண்ணிக்கையை சீனா 1950-ம் ஆண்டு முதல் கணக்கிட்டு வருகிறது. இதில் சீனா எப்போதும் முதல் இடத்தில் இருந்து வந்தது. 
• தற்போது, அந்த இடத்தை இந்தியா பிடித்துள்ளது. இந்தியாவின் மக்கள் தொகை 142.86 கோடி என்றும், சீனாவின் மக்கள் தொகை 142.57 கோடி என்றும் ஐ.நா கணக்கிட்டுள்ளது.

• இந்தியாவில் 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒரு முறை மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தப்படுகிறது. கடந்த 2021-ம் ஆண்டு தொடங்க வேண்டிய மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு, கரோனா தொற்று காரணமாக தாமதமானது.
• ஐ.நா தரவுப்படி இந்திய மக்கள் தொகை 142.86 கோடியாக உள்ளது. இதில் 25 சதவீதம் பேர் 14 வயதுக்கு உட்பட்டவர்கள். 68 சதவீதம் பேர் 15 முதல் 64 வயதுக்கு உட்பட்டவர்கள். 7 சதவீதம் பேர் 65 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்டவர்கள்.
• இந்தியாவின் மக்கள் தொகை மாநிலத்துக்கு மாநிலம் வேறுபடுகிறது. கேரளா மற்றும் பஞ்சாப்பில் வயதானவர்கள் அதிகம் உள்ளனர். பிஹார் மற்றும் உத்தர பிரதேசத்தில் இளம் வயதினர் அதிகம் உள்ளனர்.

• The UN has calculated that India's population is 142.86 crore and China's population is 142.57 crore. There are many reasons for this. China's birth rate is declining. The workforce is aging. The younger generation is not making up for it.
• Chinese people don't want to have more children due to rising costs. As a result, China has announced plans to increase birth rates in many areas. But, it didn't work.
• India does not have any data on the current population of India as no census has been conducted since 2011. Census is conducted in India once every 10 years. The census, which was supposed to start in 2021, was delayed due to the corona virus.
• According to UN data, India's population is 142.86 crore. 25 percent of them are below 14 years of age. 68 percent are in the age group of 15 to 64 years. 7 percent are above 65 years of age.
• The population of India varies from state to state. Kerala and Punjab have the highest number of elderly people. Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have the highest population of young people.
• Estimates by various organizations suggest that India's population will continue to grow for the next 30 years and start declining after reaching 165 crores.
• According to the UN, the world population will be 804 million by the middle of this year. Populations in Europe and Asia are expected to decline in the coming years, according to the UN.
