- Tamil Nadu's young Grandmaster Gukesh won the Menarca Open Chess Championship in Spain for the second time in a row and won a prize of 3000 Euros.
- 8 people participated in this 9 round chess series. All were tied with 7 points in 9 rounds. However there was a blitz match between Gukesh and another Indian player Pranav to decide the winner based on tie breaker points.
- In the Blitz tie breaker, Gukesh topped Pranav by 1.5-0.5 points and won the title. A prize of 3000 euro was awarded to Gukesh who won. By winning this title, Gukesh also became the youngest Indian to win the title for the second time in a row.
- Union Home and Cooperatives Minister Mr. Amit Shah presented the "Maharashtra Bhushan" award for the year 2022 to Dr. Appasaheb Dharmadhikari in Raigarh, Maharashtra today. The event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries.
