Foreign direct investment in Kashmir for the first time after abrogation of Article 370
- Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, was abrogated in 2019. After that various measures were taken for the infrastructural development of Jammu and Kashmir. As part of that, a commercial complex and Pannoku Gopuram are planned to be built in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir under direct foreign investment.
- To carry out the construction work, the famous tourist destination of Dubai, Burj Khalifa, has been contracted with Emaar, which has built beautiful shopping malls in Dubai. An investment of Rs.500 crore has been made for this.
- The foundation stone laying ceremony for the commercial complex and Pannoku High Towers was held yesterday. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the foundation stone work. Bollywood actors Vivek Oberoi, Neetu Chandra and others participated in the event.
- The Asian Race Walking Championship is held annually in Nomi, Japan by the Asian Athletics Association. This athletic competition, which was held since 2006, has not been held for the last 3 years.
- At this stage, 3 years later, it is now held in Japan. Akshdeep Singh, Suraj Panwar, Vikas Singh, Paramjeet Singh Bist, Hardeep Singh participated in the men's 20 km category and Priyanka Goswami, Bhavna Jatt, Sonal Sukwal, Munita Prajapati in the women's 20 km category.
- In this, Akshdeep Singh participated in the men's 20 km category and won the gold medal by winning the first place on behalf of India. Priyanka Goswami won the bronze medal in women's 20 category.
- Akshdeep Singh, who won the gold medal in the series, has already qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Participating in the National Open Race Walk Championship held in Ranchi, he covered the 20 km distance in 1 hour 19 minutes 55 seconds. It is also a national record. Through this, he has qualified to participate in the World Athletics Championship to be held this year.
- India's Priyanka Goswami has also qualified for the World Championships and Paris Olympics 2024. Following him, Vikas Singh and Paramjeet Singh Bist have also qualified for the World Championship and the Paris Olympics.
- On 19 March 2023, the 4th India-Maldives Defense Cooperation Dialogue (DCD) was held in Male. In this, Union Defense Secretary Mr. Krithar Aramane, Maldives Defense Secretary, Maldives National Defense Force Major General Abdullah Shamal and others participated.
- The talks discussed the future course of action for the military of the two countries. Further, the existing security measures have been reviewed and both sides have expressed satisfaction over the same. While the existing bilateral exercises were discussed in the talks, both countries also agreed to increase the rigor of these exercises.
