- Tolkappiyam is the oldest book in Tamil. Some of the idioms, grammatical elements and traditions of life found in it predate the Sangha literary texts. Thus it is hailed as the 'first book in Tamil'. In 2021, the Central Institute of Classical Tamil Studies published the English translation of such a special Tolkappiyam.

- The 8th Women's T20 World Cup cricket tournament was held in South Africa. 10 teams participated in this tournament. Current champions Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are in 'A' category and England, India, Pakistan, West Indies and Ireland are in 'B' category.
