World record for Adiyogi Statue of Isha Centre
- A 112 feet tall statue of Adiyogi has been erected by Isha Trust at Avalakurgi near Chikkaballapur. The statue was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Pomi.
- This statue is set up like the one at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. The opening ceremony was followed by a 14-minute light and sound show called 'Adiyogi Divya Darshanam' on the 112 feet tall Adiyogi.
- A large number of people saw the image of Adiyogi. Here on October 9 last year, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev had performed Naga Pratishtha.
- Maha Mangalarathi dance for Adiyogi, Theyam Benki dance from Kerala and Bharatanatyam by Jackie Vasudev's daughter all enthralled the audience. The statue is also recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest bust.
DAVOS 2023 - The International Meeting of the World Economic Forum begins
- 2,700 people from 130 countries participated in the World Economic Forum's consultative meeting. Heads of 52 countries including European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen, German President Olaf Scholz, European Parliament President Roberta Metzola, South African President Cyril M Ramaphosa and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez are also participating.
- Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnav, Mansukh Mandaviya, Smriti Irani and RK Singh from India will participate and present India's views.
- Apart from them, state Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde, BS Boyam and Yogi Adityanath will also participate in the meeting.
- Leaders of major companies including Tata Sons, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Serum have also attended the Davos meeting.
- In the meeting, important discussions are held on issues such as the Russia-Ukraine war, international inflation, and climate change.
Critic's Choice Award for RRR film
- Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR released last March in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. RRR's film which has received worldwide acclaim has been garnering various awards. RRR's film 'Natu Nathu' won the Golden Globe Award in the Best Original Song category at the grand Golden Globe Awards held in Los Angeles, USA. It is the first Indian song to win a Golden Globe Award in this category.

Rs.20 Crore "Vallalar Biodiversity Reserves" project - Chief Minister launched
- Chief Minister M.K. launched a Rs 20 crore 'Vallalar Biodiversity Sanctuaries' project to provide financial assistance to non-governmental organizations, animal rescue societies and animal service organizations that take care of various animals including helpless, abandoned and injured stray animals. Stalin started it.

- The annual inflation rate (approximate) based on the All India Wholesale Price Index for December 2022 has fallen to 4.95 per cent as against 5.85 per cent in November 2022. Declining prices of food products, mineral oil, crude oil, natural gas, food products, textiles, chemicals and chemical products contributed to the decline in inflation rate in December 2022.

MoU signed between National Warehouse Development Regulatory Authority and State Bank of India to provide low interest loans to farmers
- An MoU has been signed between the National Warehouse Development Regulatory Authority and the State Bank of India for providing low interest loans to farmers. The MoU was signed with an aim to increase awareness of a new type of credit called Specially Funded Produce Marketing Credit against Electronic Convertible Warehouse Receipt (e.NRS).
- In this loan process, there are no transaction fees or additional collateral and these loans are offered at low interest rates. The MoU aims to increase certainty regarding agricultural credit and highlight its benefits to agricultural depositors.

- The Renewable Energy Corporation of the National Electricity Corporation has signed an MoU with the Government of Tripura for partnership in renewable energy development.
- Mr. Rajiv Gupta, Chief General Manager, Renewables, National Thermal Power Corporation, Mr. Mahananda Debparma, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Director, Tripura Renewable Energy Development Authority, signed the agreement.

21st India-France Joint Naval Exercise 'Varuna'- 2023
- The 21st India-France Joint Naval Exercise 'Varuna'-2023 began on 16 January 2023 in the Western Sea. Joint training of the two navies began in 1993. This practice was named 'Varuna' in the year 2001.
- Indigenously designed 'Stealth Missile Destroyer' INS Chennai, INS Theg, maritime patrol aircraft B-81, Darnier aircraft, helicopters and MiG-29K fighter jet participated in the joint exercise. This joint exercise will be held for five days from January 16 to 20, 2023.
