BrahMos missile successfully test-fired from a fighter jet
- DRDO has developed the technology to launch BrahMos missiles from the Indian Air Force's Sakoi aircraft while in flight. Designed by the Army Research and Development Organization.
- The missile was successfully test-fired from an Air Force-owned Sukhoi-30 fighter jet. DRDO claims to have accurately hit and destroyed a distant target. Sources said.
Tamil Nadu has the highest number of road accidents in the country in 2021
- The Union Ministry of Road Transport has reported that 4,12,432 road accidents have occurred across the country in 2021, in which 1,53,972 people have died. It has been mentioned that 55,682 accidents have been reported in Tamil Nadu, the highest in the country, and 15,384 people have died in Tamil Nadu, which is next to Uttar Pradesh in terms of fatalities.
- It is reported that 83% (14,397) of the 19,811 people who died in car accidents across the country were not wearing seat belts. Similarly, 67% (47,000) of the 69,385 people who died in two-wheeler accidents were not wearing helmets. Tamil Nadu ranks 2nd in the number of people who died in accidents without wearing helmets.
- According to the report, Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of deaths at 6,445, Tamil Nadu at 5,888 and Maharashtra at 4,966.
Rs.300 crore Angul-Balram rail link inaugurated
- A 14 km stretch that brings out coal from the Talsar coalfields. Long Angul-Balram rail link inaugurated. Mahanadi Coalfields, which handles 40,000 tonnes of coal per day, is expected to increase the company's capacity.
