World Cup Soccer 2022 - Argentina Champion
- The Argentina team led by Messi has won the championship after defeating France in penalty shoot-out in the final of the current FIFA World Cup.
- Argentina won the title in 1978 and 1986. In 1986, Maradona, who was the then captain of the team, won the trophy. Since then the team's captain Messi has won the trophy. Argentina won the match 4-2 in a fast-paced match.
- Meanwhile, in the 22nd FIFA World Cup held in 2022, Kylian Mbappe from France scored 8 goals and won the 'Golden Boot' award, Argentina's protagonist Messi won the Golden Ball' award and goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from the same Argentinian team won the 'Golden Glove' award.
- Batting first in the first Test against Bangladesh, the Indian team was bowled out for 404 runs. Following this, the Bangladesh team started the first innings scoring 150 runs and were all out. After scoring 258 runs in the 2nd innings, the Indian team declared and set a target of 513 runs for the Bangladesh team.
- Bangladesh lost by scoring only 324 runs in the 2nd innings. The Indian team won by 188 runs. Kuldeep Yadav bagged the man of the match award after taking 5 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the 2nd innings. With this, Kuldeep Yadav became the 17th Indian player to win the man of the match award in all 3 types of cricket i.e. ODI, T20 and Test.
- In Agartala, Tripura, the Prime Minister dedicated projects worth Rs.4350 crore to the country and laid the foundation stone for new projects.
- The Prime Minister launched the Graha Pravesha scheme for the beneficiaries under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme. Developed at a cost of Rs 3400 crore, these houses will reach more than 2 lakh beneficiaries.
- Focusing on improving road connectivity, the Prime Minister launched a project to widen the Agartala Bypass (Khairpur - Amdali) NH-08 to help decongest Agartala city.
- He laid the foundation stone for 32 roads of 230 km length and development of 112 roads over 540 km under Prime Minister's Village Road Scheme. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the State Institute of Hotel Management at Anandnagar and Government Dental College, Agartala.
- In Meghalaya's Shillong, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated several projects worth Rs.2450 crore and dedicated them to the country and laid the foundation stone for new projects.
- Earlier, the Prime Minister attended the meeting of the North Eastern Council held at the State Convention Center in Shillong and participated in its golden jubilee celebrations.
- Among the many projects launched today are 320 completed, 890 under construction 4G mobile towers, new campus of IIM Shillong at Umchavli, Shillong-Teengpaso Road, new Shillong Sub-town, PM Inaugurated Projects including Spawn Laboratory at Mushroom Development Centre, Integrated Beekeeping Development Center at Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur , the Prime Minister also inaugurated 21 Hindi libraries in Tripura and Assam.
- The Prime Minister laid foundation stones for six road projects in the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. He also laid the foundation stone of an integrated hospitality and convention center at Dura and Shillong Technology Park Phase-II.
- In the direct tax collection statistics for the financial year 2022-23, the net collection as on 17.12.2022 was Rs. 11,35,754 crore. This is the previous year's Rs. 9,47,959 crore which is 19.81% higher than the net collection.
- Net Direct Tax Collection Rs. 11,35,754 crore (as on 17.12.2022), Corporation Tax (CIT) Rs. 6,06,679 crore (net of refunds), including personal income tax, securities transaction tax of Rs. 5,26,477 crores included.
- The total collection of direct taxes for the financial year 2022-23 (before refunds) is Rs. 13,63,649 crore as against Rs. 10,83,150 crore, registering a growth of 25.90% over the previous fiscal year's collection.
- Total collection Rs. 13,63,649 crore and Corporation Tax (CIT) of Rs. 7,25,036 crore. Personal Income Tax, Securities Transaction Tax including Rs. 6,35,920 crore.
