- DR பி.ஆர்.அம்பேத்கர் அவர் டிசம்பர் 6, 1956 அன்று காலமானார். அந்த நாள் மகாபரிநிர்வான் திவாஸ் என்றும் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. அவர் பாபாசாகேப் என்று பிரபலமாக அறியப்படுகிறார் மற்றும் இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பின் தலைமை சிற்பி ஆவார்.
- அவர் அரசியலமைப்பு வரைவுக் குழுவின் தலைவராகவும், இந்தியாவில் தலித் மற்றும் சிறுபான்மை உரிமைகள் இயக்கத்தின் தலைவராகவும் இருந்தார். சுதந்திர இந்தியாவின் முதல் சட்ட அமைச்சராகவும் பணியாற்றினார்.
- பம்பாய் பல்கலைக்கழகத்துடன் இணைக்கப்பட்ட எல்பின்ஸ்டன் கல்லூரியில் நுழைந்த முதல் தீண்டத்தகாதவர். தன் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் தலித் சமூகத்தின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்காக பாடுபட்டார். 1936 ஆம் ஆண்டில், அவர் சாதி அமைப்பு மற்றும் இந்து மதத் தலைவர்களை விவரிக்கும் சாதி ஒழிப்பு புத்தகத்தை வெளியிட்டார்.
- அதே ஆண்டில், அவர் சுதந்திர தொழிலாளர் கட்சியையும் உருவாக்கினார். அவர் 1956 இல் பௌத்த மதத்திற்கு மாற்றப்பட்டார். 1990 இல், அவருக்கு மரணத்திற்குப் பின் இந்தியாவின் உயரிய குடிமகன் விருதான பாரத ரத்னா வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- DR. BR Ambedkar passed away on December 6, 1956. The day is also observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas. He is popularly known as Babasaheb and is the chief architect of India's Constitution.
- He was the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee and a leader of the Dalit and minority rights movement in India. He also served as the first Law Minister of Independent India.
- He was also the first untouchable to have entered Elphinstone College which was affiliated with the University of Bombay. Throughout his life, he worked for the upliftment of the Dalit community.
- In 1936, he published the book Annihilation of Caste which describes the caste system and Hindu orthodox religious leaders. In the same year, he also formed the Independent Labour Party. He was converted to Buddhism in 1956. In 1990, he was posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
