- 1971 இல் பாகிஸ்தானுக்கு எதிரான தீர்க்கமான வெற்றியைக் குறிக்கும் வகையில் இந்தியாவில் டிசம்பர் 16 அன்று விஜய் திவாஸ் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது, இதன் விளைவாக வங்காளதேசம் உருவாகி கிழக்கு பாகிஸ்தானின் விடுதலைக்கு வழிவகுத்தது.
- 1999 ஆம் ஆண்டு கார்கில்-டிராஸ் செக்டாரில் பாகிஸ்தான் ஊடுருவல்காரர்களால் கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட இந்தியப் பகுதிகளை திரும்பப் பெறுவதற்காக தொடங்கப்பட்ட ''ஆபரேஷன் விஜய்''யின் வெற்றியை இந்த நாள் நினைவுகூருகிறது.

- வெற்றியின் 20 வது ஆண்டு நிறைவை இந்திய இராணுவ அதிகாரிகள் "நினைவில் கொள்ளுங்கள், மகிழ்ச்சியுங்கள் மற்றும் புதுப்பிக்கவும்" என்ற கருப்பொருளுடன் கோஷமிட்டனர்.
