India's first ever offshore wind power project - National Wind Energy Corporation issues tender
- In 2015, the Union Government issued a notification regarding the plan to generate electricity by setting up offshore wind farms in India. Accordingly, on behalf of the Union Energy Department, a study was carried out by measuring the wind speed along the 7,600 km long coastline in India.
