- போலீசாரின் உயிர் தியாகத்துக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்தும் விதமாக அக். 21-ல் தேசிய போலீஸ் தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- 1962 ஆம் ஆண்டு மோதலுக்கு முன் இந்தியாவிற்கும் சீனாவிற்கும் இடையே பதட்டங்கள் அதிகரிக்கத் தொடங்கியபோது, 1958 மற்றும் 1959 ஆம் ஆண்டுகளில் இந்த நாள் முதன்முதலில் காட்சியில் நுழைந்தது.
- சீனர்கள் அக்டோபர் 21, 1959 அன்று லடாக்கில் எங்கள் 20 பேரை சுடத் தொடங்கினர். எங்கள் வீரமிக்க வீரர்கள் ஏழு பேர். காயம் அடைந்தனர்,
- அவர்களில் பத்து பேர் நாட்டைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக தங்கள் உயிரைக் கொடுத்தனர். இறுதியில் ஒரு மாதம் ஏழு நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு அந்த 10 வீரம் மிக்க வீரர்களின் உடல்களை சீனா எங்களிடம் ஒப்படைத்தது.
- மேலும் கிழக்கு லடாக்கில் அவர்களின் நினைவேந்தல் மரியாதையுடன் நடத்தப்பட்டது. அன்றிலிருந்து ஆண்டுதோறும் அக்டோபர் 21ஆம் தேதி காவலர் வீரவணக்க தினமாக அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
- இவர்களின் தியாகத்தை அங்கீகரிக்கும் விதமாக இத்தினம் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. இந்தியாவில் உயிர் தியாகம் செய்த போலீசாரின் நினைவாக டில்லயில் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட தேசிய போலீஸ் நினைவகம் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- As a tribute to the life sacrifice of the police, Oct. 21st is observed as National Police Day. The day first entered the scene in 1958 and 1959 when tensions began to rise between India and China before the 1962 conflict.
- The Chinese started shooting 20 of our men in Ladakh on October 21, 1959. Our valiant soldiers are seven injured, Ten of them gave their lives to protect the country. Finally after one month and seven days China handed over the bodies of those 10 brave soldiers to us.
- And in eastern Ladakh their commemoration was held with respect. Since then 21st October is recognized as Guards Valor Day every year.
- This event was started in recognition of their sacrifice. A revamped National Police Memorial has been erected in Delhi to honor the policemen who sacrificed their lives in India.
