- குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் பாதிப்புகள் குறித்து, 'சேவ் தி சில்ட்ரன்' என்ற குழந்தைகள் உரிமை அமைப்பு, பிரசல்ஸ் நகரில் உள்ள விரிஜே பல்கலைக்கழகம் இணைந்து ஆய்வு செய்து அறிக்கை ஒன்றை வெளியிட்டுள்ளன.
- அதில், உலகம் முழுவதும் 77.40 கோடி குழந்தைகள் வறுமையாலும், பருவநிலை நிகழ்வுகளாலும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு வருவதாக கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- உலகளவில், கம்போடியாவில் வசிக்கும் குழந்தைகள்தான் வறுமை, பருவநிலை தாக்கம் என இரட்டை அச்சுறுத்தலை சந்திப்பவர்களில் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளனர்.
- அங்கு 72 சதவீத குழந்தைகளும், மியான்மரில் 64 சதவீத குழந்தைகளும், ஆப்கானிஸ்தானில் 57 சதவீத குழந்தைகளும் அச்சுறுத்தலை சந்தித்து வருகின்றனர்.
- இந்தியாவில் உள்ள குழந்தைகளில் 51 சதவீதம் பேர், அதாவது 22.20 கோடி குழந்தைகள், வறுமையிலும், பருவநிலை நிகழ்வுகளின் பிடியிலும் வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார்கள்.
- இந்தியாவில், 35.19 கோடி குழந்தைகள், ஆண்டுதோறும் ஏதேனும் ஒரு பருவநிலை நிகழ்வால் பாதிக்கப்படுவதாக இந்த ஆய்வு தெரிவிக்கிறது.
- கேரளா, அசாம் போன்ற மாநிலங்களில் ஏற்படும் வெள்ள பெருக்கும், ஒடிசாவில் வீசும் புயலும் எண்ணற்ற குழந்தைகளை வறுமையில் தள்ளி இருப்பதாக கூறியுள்ளது. உயர் வருவாய் நாடுகளிலும் 12.10 கோடி குழந்தைகள் இந்த அச்சுறுத்தலில் வாழ்ந்து வருவதாக கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
