Indian women's team made history by whitewashing England

'Clean Air Survey' - Ranking of cities under National Clean Air Program (NCAP)
  • A two-day National Conference of Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministers 2022 was held on 23-24 September 2022 at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. The Prime Minister inaugurated the conference through video presentation.
  • During a session on pollution control and prevention, states were briefed on the ranking and guidelines of cities under the 'Swach Vayu Survey' - National Clean Air Program (NCAP).
  • Under the direction of the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the 'Swach Vayu Survey' will be launched and 131 cities in the country will be ranked for implementation of city action plans under the National Clean Air Program (NCAP).
  • Those 131 cities are classified into three groups based on population. The first group has 47 cities with a population of more than 10 lakhs. The second group has 44 cities with a population of 3 to 10 lakhs. The third group consists of 40 cities with a population of less than 3 lakhs.
  • Cities have to do self-assessment through Prana online portal. This evaluation is done annually. Cities should report on measures taken and implemented in solid waste management, road dust management, construction and demolition waste management, control of vehicular emissions and industrial pollution.
