- சிற்பி திட்டம் / SIRPI SCHEME: சென்னையில் பெருகி வரும் குற்றச்செயல்களை தடுக்க, மாநகரகாவல் துறை பல்வேறு நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுத்து வருகிறது. அதன் ஒருபகுதியாக சிறுவர்களை நல்வழிப்படுத்துவதற்கான புதிய திட்டத்தை தொடங்க கடந்தாண்டு சென்னைகாவல் துறை முடிவெடுத்தது.
- இதன்படி, சிறார் குற்றச்செயல்களுக்கு தீர்வு காணவும், பாதிக்கப்படும் சிறுவர்களை கண்டறிந்து அவர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டவும் சென்னையில், 'சிற்பி' என்ற திட்டத்தை அறிமுகம் செய்ய காவல் துறைநடவடிக்கை எடுத்தது.
- குறிப்பாக, சென்னையில் 100 மாநகராட்சி பள்ளிகளில் தலா 50 மாணவர்களைக் கொண்டு இந்த சிற்பி திட்டத்தை சென்னை மாநகர காவல் துறை செயல்படுத்துகிறது.
- சிற்பி' என்றாலும் அது குறிக்கும் ஆங்கில விரிவாக்கம் வேறு. அதாவது Students in Responsible Police Initiatives என்பதன் சுருக்கம்தான் Sirpi.
- பள்ளியில் பயிலும் மாணவர்கள் கல்வியில் சிறந்து விளங்குவதுடன், ஒழுக்கத்திலும் சிறந்து விளங்கிடவும், சட்டம், ஒழுங்கு பிரச்சினைகளில் ஈடுபடாமல் நல்ல பண்புகளை வளர்த்துக் கொள்ளவும், போதை உள்ளிட்ட தீய பழக்கங்களுக்கு அடிமையாகாமல் அவர்களை நல்வழிப்படுத்தவும், தாம் கற்ற கல்வியையும், ஒழுக்கத்தையும் பிறருக்கு கற்றுக் கொடுக்கும் அளவுக்கு அவர்களை வளர்ப்பதற்கும், ஒரு வழிகாட்டி தேவைப்படுவது அறிந்து, பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கான ஒரு சிறந்த வழிகாட்டியாக, காவல்துறையினரின் முயற்சிகளில் மாணவர்களை ஈடுபடுத்தும் பிரிவாக "சிற்பி" (SIRPI - Students In Responsible Police Initiatives) என்ற இத்திட்டம் செயல்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.
- இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் ஒருங்கிணைப்பு அதிகாரிகள் நியமிக்கப்பட்டு, மாணவ, மாணவியர்களுக்கு நற்பண்பு, நல்லொழுக்கம், நாட்டுப்பற்று, பொது அறிவு ஆகியவற்றைக் கற்றுக் கொடுப்பதுடன், உடலை ஆரோக்கியமாக வைத்துக் கொள்ள உடற்பயிற்சிகள், யோகா போன்றவையும் கற்றுக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.
- இதன் முதற்கட்டமாக 100 அரசு பள்ளிகள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு, அப்பள்ளிகளிலிருந்து 8ம் வகுப்பு பயிலும் 50 மாணவர்கள் அவர்களது விருப்பத்தின் பேரில், தன்னார்வலர்களாக (Volunteers) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு, அவர்களுக்கு நற்பண்புகள் மற்றும் உடற்பயிற்சி குறித்த வகுப்புகள் நடத்தப்படும்.
- மேலும், அம்மாணவர்கள் 8 சுற்றுலா தலங்களுக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டு கல்வி, வரலாறு, பொது அறிவு குறித்து எடுத்துரைக்கப்படும். அத்துடன் உடலை ஆரோக்கியமாக வைத்துக்கொள்வதற்காக, விளையாட்டுப் பயிற்சி, உடற்பயிற்சி, கவாத்து ஆகியவையும் கற்றுக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.
- நற்பண்புகளை வளர்த்துக்கொள்ள நல்லொழுக்கம், நாட்டுப்பற்று, தேசிய ஒற்றுமை, பிறருக்கு உதவுதல், தாம் கற்ற கல்வியையும், நல்லொழுக்கத்தையும் பிறருக்கு எடுத்துரைத்தல், கண்டு களித்த வரலாற்று சிறப்புமிக்க இடங்கள் மற்றும் நல்ல அனுபவங்கள் குறித்து பிறருக்குக் கற்றுத் தருதல் போன்ற நல்ல பண்புகளை வளர்க்க இச்சிறப்பு வகுப்புகள் உதவும்.
- மேலும், தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட மாணவர்களுக்கு, பொதுமக்கள் அமைதியாக வாழ்வதற்கு உறுதுணையாக இருக்கும் காவல்துறையின் செயல்பாடுகள், அமைப்பு, பணிகள் குறித்தும், அவசர உதவி மையங்கள் மற்றும் அதன் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்தும், சென்னை பெருநகர காவல் துறையின் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்தும் எடுத்துரைக்கப்படும்.
- இவ்வகுப்புகள் மூலம் அவர்களை சிற்பியாக உருவாக்கி, இந்த சிற்பிகள் மூலம் அப்பள்ளியில் உள்ள மற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கும் நற்பண்புகள் கற்பிக்கப்பட்டு, கல்வி, ஒழுக்கம், விளையாட்டு என அனைத்திலும் சிறந்த மாணவர்களாக அனைவரையும் உருவாக்குவதே சிற்பி திட்டத்தின் நோக்கமாகும்.
- முன்னதாக, மாண்புமிகு தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் அவர்கள் முன்னிலையில், சிற்பி உறுதிமொழி ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

- சிற்பி திட்டம் / SIRPI SCHEME: "நான் இச்சிற்பி திட்டத்தின் வாயிலாகச் சிறந்த மாணவனாகத் / மாணவியாகத் திகழ்வேன், சாலை விதிகளை மதிப்பேன், சட்ட திட்டங்களுக்குக் கட்டுப்பட்டு நடப்பேன், எந்நாளும் போதைக்கு அடிமையாக மாட்டேன், இயற்கையைப் பாதுகாப்பேன், பகைமை பாராட்டாமல் அன்பை அனைவரிடமும் பகிர்வேன், சமுதாயத்தில் அனைவருக்கும் எடுத்துக்காட்டாய் விளங்குவேன் என்று உளமார உறுதி கூறுகிறேன்".

- SIRPI SCHEME: To prevent the increasing crime in Chennai, the Municipal Police Department is taking various measures. As part of this, the Chennai Police Department decided last year to launch a new program for the betterment of children.
- Accordingly, the Police Department has taken steps to introduce a program called 'Silpi' in Chennai to tackle juvenile delinquency and identify and guide vulnerable children.
- Specifically, the Chennai Metropolitan Police Department is implementing this sculpture program with 50 students each in 100 municipal schools in Chennai.
- Sculptor' though the English expansion of what it means is different. Sirpi stands for Students in Responsible Police Initiatives.
- Knowing that the students in the school need a mentor to help them excel academically and morally, to develop good character without getting involved in law and order problems, to guide them well without getting addicted to bad habits including drugs, to nurture them to the extent that they can teach the education and morals they have learned to others, and knowing that a mentor is needed for the school students. As a guide, a program called "SIPI - Students In Responsible Police Initiatives" is implemented as a unit to involve students in police initiatives.
- Coordinating officers will be appointed through this scheme and the students will be taught virtue, virtue, patriotism and general knowledge, and exercises and yoga will also be taught to keep the body healthy.
- In the first phase, 100 government schools will be selected and 50 students of 8th standard from those schools will be selected as volunteers based on their choice, and classes on virtues and exercise will be conducted for them.
- Also, these students will be taken to 8 tourist spots and will be taught about education, history and general knowledge. Also, to keep the body healthy, sports training, exercise and parade will also be taught.
- These special classes help to develop good qualities like virtue, patriotism, national unity, helping others, imparting the education and virtue one has learned to others, teaching others about the historical places and good experiences one has seen and learned.
- Also, the selected students will be informed about the activities, organization and functions of the police, which help the public to live peacefully, about the emergency centers and their functions, and about the functions of the Chennai Metropolitan Police Department.
- The aim of the Sculptor Program is to make them into Sculptors through these classes, and through these Sculptors, virtues are taught to other students in the school, and to make everyone the best students in academics, morals, sports.
- Earlier, in the presence of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Sculptor's Pledge was accepted.
