- பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள், ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனங்கள் மற்றும் அறிவியல் நிறுவனங்களில் எம்.பில் மற்றும் பிஎச்.டி போன்ற பட்டங்களுக்கு வழிவகுக்கும் தரமான உயர்கல்வியைப் பெறுவதற்கு OBC மாணவர்களுக்கு நிதியுதவி வழங்குவதை இந்தத் திட்டம் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
- இத்திட்டம் 2014-15 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஆண்டுக்கு மொத்தம் 300 ஜூனியர் ரிசர்ச் பெல்லோஷிப்களையும், 2016-17 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 300 மூத்த ஆராய்ச்சி உதவித்தொகைகளையும் இதர பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட வகுப்பு (ஓபிசி) மாணவர்களுக்கு வழங்க வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- யுஜிசி இத்திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்துவதற்கான நோடல் ஏஜென்சியாகும், மேலும் இத்திட்டத்தை தகுந்த தேதியில் ஊடகங்களில் விளம்பரங்கள் மூலம் அறிவிக்கும்.
- இந்தத் திட்டம் பல்கலைக்கழக மானியக் குழுவால் (UGC) அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்து பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள்/நிறுவனங்களை உள்ளடக்கியது.
- எம்.பில் படிக்கும் ஆராய்ச்சி மாணவர்களுக்கு பெல்லோஷிப் வழங்கப்படுகிறது. மற்றும் Ph.D. JRF நிலைக்கான பெல்லோஷிப் விகிதம் ரூ. மாதம் 25000 மற்றும் SRF லெவலுக்கு ரூ. மாதம் 28000.
- ஆரம்ப இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ரூ.10,000 - 12,000 மற்றும் மீதமுள்ள பதவிக்காலத்திற்கு ரூ. 20,500 - ரூ.25,000 கான்டிஜென்சிகளும் வழங்கப்படும். உடல் மற்றும் பார்வை குறைபாடுள்ள மாணவர்களுக்கு எஸ்கார்ட்ஸ்/ரீடர் உதவி மாதம் ரூ.2000 வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
- ஒரு OBC மாணவர் M.Phil./Ph.D இல் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டார். ஒரு பல்கலைக்கழகம் அல்லது கல்வி நிறுவனத்தில் படிப்பது, தேவையான சேர்க்கை முறைகளை முடித்த பிறகு, UGC இன் விளம்பரத்தின்படி திட்டத்தின் விதிகளுக்கு உட்பட்டு பெல்லோஷிப் வழங்கத் தகுதியுடையது.
- JRF மற்றும் SRF விருதுகளின் மொத்த காலம் 5 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மிகாமல் இருக்க வேண்டும். M.Phil./Ph.D இல் மாணவர் பதிவு செய்த நாளிலிருந்து பெல்லோஷிப் வழங்கப்படும்.
- வழக்கமான மற்றும் முழுநேர M.Phil./Ph.D. படிப்பவர்கள் மட்டுமே. ஒரு பல்கலைக்கழகம்/ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தின் படிப்பு பெல்லோஷிப்பிற்கு தகுதியுடையதாக இருக்கும்.
- The scheme aims at providing financial assistance to the OBC students in obtaining quality higher education leading to degrees such as M.Phil and Ph.D in universities, research institutions and scientific institutions.
- The scheme is designed to provide a total number of 300 Junior Research Fellowships per year from the year 2014-15 onwards and 300 Senior Research Fellowships during 2016-17 to Other Backward Class (OBC) students.
- The UGC is the nodal agency for implementing the scheme and notifies the scheme through advertisements in the media at a suitable date. The scheme covers all universities/institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- Fellowships are awarded to research students pursuing M. Phil. and Ph.D. The rate of fellowship for JRF level is Rs. 25000 per month and for SRF level, it is Rs. 28000 per month.
- Contigencies of Rs 10,000 - 12,000 for initial two years and Rs 20,500 - Rs 25,000 for the remaining tenure is also provided. Escorts / Reader assistance of Rs 2000 per month is provided for physically and visually disabled students.
- An OBC student admitted to M.Phil./Ph.D. course in a University or academic institution after completing the required formalities of admission, is eligible for the award of Fellowship subject to provisions of the scheme as per the advertisement of UGC.
- The total period of award of JRF and SRF shall not exceed a period of 5 years. The fellowship will be paid from the date of registration of the student in the M.Phil./Ph.D. course. Only those, doing regular and full time M.Phil./Ph.D. course of a University/Research Institution shall be eligible for the fellowship.
