Football Federation of India license cancelled

  • FIFA has temporarily revoked the Indian Football Federation's licence. The license has been revoked as the Football Association has held elections and no new administrators have been appointed.
  • FIFA has also announced that the license will be reinstated if new administrators are appointed. Also, FIFA has decided to relocate the Women's Under-17 World Cup, which was scheduled to be held in India in October.
PM Hoisted National Flag at Red Fort - Called Youth to Take 5 Pledges
  • The Independence Day Amuda Festival was celebrated with great pomp in the capital city of Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag and addressed the Red Fort. At that time, he called upon the youth to take 5 pledges to make India a developed country.

  • The state government's monthly pension for freedom fighters will be increased from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 20 thousand from August 15. Family pension will be increased from Rs.9 thousand to Rs.10 thousand.
  • The monthly special pension for the descendants of Veerapandiya Kattabomman, Sivagangai Marutupandiya brothers, Sivagangai Muthuramalinga Vijayaragunatha Sethupathi and V.U.Chitambaranar will be increased from Rs.9 thousand to Rs.10 thousand.
  • Along with the central government employees, state government employees have also accepted the demand for increase in dearness allowance, amid severe financial burden, government employees, pensioners and family pensioners will be given an increase in dearness allowance from 31 per cent to 34 per cent from July 1. Through this, 16 lakh people will benefit. An additional cost of Rs 1,947.60 crore per annum to the government.
  • A 'Liberation Day Museum' with modern technical facilities will be set up in Chennai so that the future young society can learn about Tamil Nadu's 260 years of continuous contribution in the freedom struggle.
India donates 'Torney' aircraft to Sri Lanka Navy
  • India on Monday donated a 'Torney 228' aircraft to the Sri Lankan Navy to strengthen its maritime surveillance. In a program held at the Air Force base near Colombo Kattunayake International Airport, Vice Commander of the Indian Navy SN Kormade handed over this aircraft to the country's President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
