- பண்டிட் தீன்தயாள் உபாத்யாய் தேசிய நல நிதியம் (PDUNWFS) மார்ச், 1982 இல் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது, இது விளையாட்டில் நாட்டிற்கு பெருமை சேர்த்த, கடந்த காலத்தின் சிறந்த விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கு உதவும் நோக்கில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
- கடந்த காலங்களில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கு மொத்தமாக கருணைத் தொகையை வழங்குவதற்காக மே, 2016 இல் திருத்தப்பட்ட திட்டம்.
- திறமையான விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கு ஓய்வூதியம் வழங்கும் திட்டம் ஏற்கனவே உள்ளதால் ஓய்வூதியம் வழங்குவது நிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- ஆதரவற்ற விளையாட்டு வீரர்களில் தற்போது வாழும் சிறந்த விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கு தகுந்த உதவிகளை வழங்குதல்.
- போட்டிகளுக்கான பயிற்சியின் போது மற்றும் போட்டிகளின் போது காயமடைந்த சிறந்த விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கு காயத்தின் தன்மையைப் பொறுத்து பொருத்தமான உதவிகளை வழங்குதல்.
- சர்வதேசத் துறையில் நாட்டிற்குப் பெருமை சேர்க்கும் சிறந்த விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்குத் தகுந்த உதவிகளை வழங்குதல் மற்றும் அவர்களின் கடுமையான பயிற்சியின் விளைவாக அல்லது வேறுவிதமாக ஊனமுற்றோர் மற்றும் அவர்களுக்கு மருத்துவ சிகிச்சைக்கான உதவிகளை வழங்குதல்.
- பொதுவாக விளையாட்டு வீரர்களின் நலனை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காகவும், அவர்கள் மற்றும் அவர்களைச் சார்ந்திருப்பவர்களுக்கிடையே உள்ள துயரங்களைத் தணிப்பதற்காகவும் நிதியத்தின் நிதியை நிர்வாகி மற்றும் பயன்படுத்துதல்
- செயலில் உள்ள விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கு தனித்தனியாக அல்லது கூட்டாக ஒரு குழுவாக நிதியின் நிதியை நிர்வகித்தல் மற்றும் பயன்படுத்துதல்.

- Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay National Welfare Fund For Sportspersons (PDUNWFS) was set up in March, 1982 with a view to assisting outstanding Sportspersons of yesteryear, living in indigent circumstances who had brought glory to the Country in sports.
- The scheme as revised in May, 2016 to provide for lump sum ex-gratia assistance to outstanding Sportspersons of yesteryears. Provision of pension has been done away with as there is already a Scheme of Pension for Meritorious Sportspersons.
- The Fund shall be utilized for the following objectives:
- To provide suitable assistance to outstanding sportspersons now living in indigent sportspersons.
- To provide suitable assistance to outstanding sportspersons injured during the period of their training for competitions and also during the competitions, depending on the nature of the injury.
- To provide suitable assistance to outstanding sportspersons who bring glory to the country in international field and who are disabled as an after effect of their strenuous training or otherwise and to provide them assistance for medical treatment.
- To administrator and apply the funds of the Fund to promote the welfare of the sportspersons generally in order to alleviate distress among them and their dependents in indigent circumstances
- To administer and apply the funds of the Fund for active sportspersons individually or collectively as a group.
- To do all other things which are incidental to the above objectives
