New 'Technology Center 4.0' in 71 Government ITIs in Tamil Nadu - Rs 2,877 crore allocation

  • Out of the 91 Government Training Institutes (ITIs) in Tamil Nadu, ``Technology Center 4.0'' will be started in 71 in collaboration with Tata in the first phase. A fund of Rs.2,877.43 crore has been allocated for this purpose. 
  • Out of this, 87.5 percent is contributed by Tata and 12.5 percent by Tamil Nadu government. Also, a new building with an area of ​​10,500 square feet is to be constructed in 71 government ITIs at a cost of Rs.3.73 crore each.
  • A total of Rs.2,201 crore has been allocated to the selected 71 government ITIs for infrastructural facilities including machinery and training equipment at the rate of Rs.31 crore each. A fund of Rs.2,862.01 crore has been earmarked by the Tamil Nadu government for constructions.
  • For this project, 218 new jobs and 39 contract jobs have been created and a total of Rs. 2,877.43 crore has been allocated for their wages and expenses including Rs. 15.42 crore.
  • In this new center, trainings are conducted in the use of technical tools, robotics, painting technology, computer-aided use in automatic industries, electric vehicle, internet tools, modern manufacturing methods, computer-aided design, modern pipeline system.

  • Former West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhangar contested as the candidate of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. Former Union Minister Margaret Alva contested as the general candidate of the opposition parties.
  • 725 Members of Parliament voted in this election. Out of which BJP candidate Jagadeep Dhangar got 528 votes and Margaret Alva got 182 votes. With this, Jagadeep Dhangar was declared the winner.
  • Jagadeep Thangar was sworn in as the 14th Vice President of India. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Jagadeep Thangar. Prime Minister Modi, former President Ram Nath Kovind, former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Union Ministers attended the programme.
