Food security - Odisha ranks first, Tamil Nadu ranks 9th
- Every year, the central government ranks the states that are best in implementing the National Food Security Act. Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal released the State Rank Index for the year 2022.
- Odisha tops the list of states that have implemented the National Food Security Act well. Uttar Pradesh is second and Andhra is third. Tamil Nadu has got the ninth position in this ranking code list.
- On Tuesday, all 30 of its member states signed a protocol to join Sweden and Finland in NATO. The document was then sent to the parliaments of the member states for approval. Following this, Sweden and Finland, which have been following the policy of non-alignment until now, have taken another step towards joining NATO.
- Indian Navy's 100% indigenously designed frigate INS Chatpura and P-8I LRMRASW aircraft have arrived at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii to participate in the Rimpac (RIMPAC) exercise. While the Satpura ship reached Hawaii on 27 June, the B-8I aircraft reached Hawaii on 2 July.
- Seminars, debates and sports competitions are held as part of the exercise at the port complex. Naval personnel participating in the exercise visited the historic museum ship USS Missouri.
- Next, at the USS Arizona Memorial, tributes were paid to soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. INS Satpura and a B-8I coastal patrol aircraft also participated in the six-week long combat exercise.
- The exercise is organized to improve operational efficiency among allied navies. A total of 38 warships from 28 countries, ground forces of 9 countries, 31 unmanned devices, 170 aircraft and more than 25 thousand soldiers participated in this exercise.
- The sea exercise will begin on July 12. The closing ceremony of the training will be held on August 4.
