Prime Minister Narendra Modi attends the 42nd convocation ceremony of Anna University, Chennai
- The 42nd convocation ceremony of Anna University, Chennai was held at the Vivekananda Theater in the university campus. In this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated as a special guest and presented degrees and medals to 69 students in various categories.
- When the graduation ceremony started, Higher Education Minister and University Vice-Chancellor K. Ponmudi welcomed everyone. Vice-Chancellor Rao Velraj explained the achievements of the University. Subsequently, University Chancellor and Governor RN Ravi. He inaugurated the graduation ceremony.

- The draft resolution declaring that access to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment is a fundamental right of all people was adopted by the 193-member UN. It was brought up for a vote in the General Assembly on Thursday.
- It was mentioned in the draft resolution that the multilateral agreements made in this regard should be fully implemented under the International Environmental Law. 161 countries including India voted in favor of the resolution. Russia, China, Belarus, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Syria abstained from voting.
