Successful unmanned fighter jet test

Neeraj Chopra set a new national record for Diamond League series

Memorandum of Understanding with IGSS Ventures Pvt to set up Semiconductor Hi-Tech Park - Signed in the presence of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin
  • A memorandum of understanding was signed between IGSS Ventures Pvt Ltd, a mentoring agency of the Government of Tamil Nadu and IGSS Ventures Pvt Ltd, to set up a 300-acre Semiconductor Hi-Tech Park in Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin at the Secretariat.
  • The company plans to invest 25,600 crore rupees in the project in the next 5 years and provide direct employment to 1500 people. Circuit designers, manufacturing material distributors, equipment distributors and semiconductor outsourcing and testing companies will be set up in the park.
  • It is expected that 25,000 additional jobs will be created through the resulting ecosystem. IGSSV plans to set up a semiconductor manufacturing project named Project Suria. For this, it has applied under the Union Government's India Semiconductor Mission to set up semiconductor manufacturing projects in India.
Officer Rajan from Tamil Nadu has been appointed as the director of the National Police Academy
  • Sarmarajan alias AS Rajan, an IPS officer and Special Director of Intelligence, has been appointed as the Director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
  • AS Rajan belongs to Theni district. He is a Bihar cadre IPS officer. He served in the Central Intelligence Agency for twenty years. Rajan joined the Intelligence Service in 1999 after serving in Bihar for over 12 years.
  • He worked in the Central Intelligence Agency in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh. Worked at Indian Embassy in London for three years. Presently appointed as Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.
State Dam Protection Organization to protect dams in Tamil Nadu - Tamil Nadu Govt
  • Tamil Nadu Government has created the State Dam Protection System to protect the dams in Tamil Nadu. The State Dam Protection Organization has been created under the Dam Protection Act of the Central Government.
  • In this organization, 15 people including Chief Engineers of Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy and other zones have been appointed as members. This system will monitor the safety of the dam, water inflow and outflow etc.
GST collection for June was 1.44 lakh crore
  • This is 56 percent more than the collection of Rs 92,800 crore in June last year (2021). This is the 5th time since the introduction of GST that the collection has crossed 1.40 lakh crore. GST collection has crossed Rs 1.40 lakh crore for the 4th time in a row since last March.
  • Out of the GST collection of Rs 1,44,616 crore in June, CGST was Rs 23,306 crore, SGST was Rs 32,406 crore, IGST was Rs 75,887 crore (including Rs 40,102 crore from import of goods) and cess was Rs 11,018 crore (revenue from import of goods was Rs. .1,197 crore including).
  • The collection for June is the highest after last April's collection of Rs 1,67,540 crore. Last May, Rs 1.41 lakh crore was collected.
Digital X-ray vehicle launched by Chief Minister
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin flagged off 23 mobile vehicles equipped with digital x-ray equipment at a cost of Rs.10.65 crore for 23 districts as part of various measures taken by the government to achieve the goal of 'TB-free Tamil Nadu - 2025' at Nochikkuppam, Chennai.
  • The Government of Tamil Nadu is taking various measures to achieve the goal of TB-free Tamil Nadu by 2025. As part of that, 14 mobile x-ray vehicles have been provided in the first phase to detect TB among people living in TB endemic areas.
  • Currently, in the second phase, 23 mobile vehicles with digital X-ray equipment have been provided to 23 districts at the rate of 46 lakh rupees each, at an estimated cost of 10 crore 65 lakh rupees.
  • The vehicle will be used to search for the poor and detect TB in places where TB is likely to occur, such as crowded residential areas, old age homes, factories and TB risk areas. To detect people with TB, they are given free smear tests and X-rays to determine if they have TB.
  • Tuberculosis patients will be given appropriate treatment, medicines, 500 rupees stipend and continuous monitoring service, awareness about tuberculosis and disease prevention methods will be spread among the people there.
  • The modern digital x-ray machine installed in a mobile vehicle is equipped to run with the help of a generator even in places where there is no electricity. The interior of this vehicle is divided into two rooms, an air-conditioned X-ray room and a computer-equipped room for checking the X-rays taken.
  • Also, this vehicle is equipped with a color television screen to inform people about disease prevention and awareness and umbrellas for people's convenience during camps. It is planned to diagnose tuberculosis in 5 lakh people this year with the capacity of taking 10 x-rays in an hour.
  • Proper diet and nutrition during the treatment period is essential for the recovery of TB patients. Volunteers provide grains, millets and pulses in the nutrition bank to provide additional nutrition to TB patients.
  • In appreciation of 100 volunteers and charitable organizations who supported TB patients by providing them with appropriate nutritional products for their complete recovery, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu presented certificates of appreciation to 10 volunteers and charitable organizations and also presented nutritional boxes to three TB patients.
  • According to the target of TB-free Tamil Nadu-2025, the rate of TB patients should be reduced from 217 TB patients per one lakh population in 2015 to 44 TB patients by 2025.
  • The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu awarded certificates of appreciation to the Nilgiri district for reducing the TB rate by 40 percent and to the deputy directors of tuberculosis of Tiruvannamalai, Karur, Kanyakumari, Nagapattinam, Namakkal, Sivagangai and Villupuram districts for reducing the TB rate by 40 percent.
