India achieves Sustainable Development Goals - UN praise
- Last year, in 2015, the UN announced a plan to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, which will improve the living conditions of the people down to the village.
- It was ratified by 195 countries, including India. According to this, targets were set for 17 aspects, including eradication of poverty and hunger, quality education, good health, gender equality, clean drinking water and toilet facilities, provision of green energy at fair prices, increasing industry and infrastructure.
- In this case, a seminar titled 'India as a model for Sustainable Development Goals' was held at the UN. In this, UN Vice President Amina Mohammad said: India has achieved remarkable performance in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this, India is an example for other countries.
- It is hoped that other countries will follow India and formulate action plans and achieve the target set by 2030. India has taken this scheme to the masses. In the last six years, over 33 crore people in India have been provided with toilet facilities which is astounding.
