உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினம் 2023 / WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2023: இயற்கை வளங்களான நீர்நிலைகள், காடுகள், வன உயிரினங்கள், வளிமண்டலம், பறவைகள், சோலைகள், கடற்கரைகள், மனிதர்கள் உள்பட அனைத்து உயிரினங்களும் வாழ இன்றியமையாதது.
சுற்றுசூழல் சமநிலை என்பது மனிதர்கள், விலங்குகள், பறவைகள், தாவரங்கள், கடல்வாழ் உயிரினங்கள் போன்றவற்றின் நல்வாழ்விற்கு அவசியமானது. இந்த சமநிலையில் ஏற்படும் மாற்றங்கள் சுற்றுச்சூழலை மட்டுமன்றி, உயிரினங்களின் வாழ்வுக்கும் அச்சுறுத்தலாகவும் ஆபத்தாகவும் அமையும்.
வளர்ச்சி என்பது தவிர்க்க முடியாத ஒன்று. மனிதன் நாகரிகம் என்ற ஓன்றை உருவாக்கத் தொடங்கியதிலிருந்தே வளர்ச்சி அதன் அங்கமாக மாறிவிட்டது.
மாற்றம் நன்மையை மட்டும் கொடுக்காது. நவீன விஞ்ஞான, தொழில்நுட்ப, தொழில்துறை வளர்ச்சியின் காரணமாக சுற்றுச்சூழல் மாசடைகிறது.
ரசாயனக் கழிவுகள், புகை என்பன நீர் நிலைகள், வளிமண்டலம் போன்றவற்றை மாசுபடுத்துவதால் அவற்றை உள்ளிழுத்து வாழும் உயிரினங்களுக்கு ஆபத்து ஏற்படுகிறது.
விதைத்தவன் அதன் பலனை அறுக்கத்தானே வேண்டும். மாசுப்பொருட்களை சுற்றுசூழலில் கலந்தவன் அதன் விளைவுகளை அனுபவிக்கவும் வேண்டும்.
அப்படித் தான் கடந்த நூற்றாண்டுகளில் சுற்றுசூழல் மாசின் விளைவுகளான புவி வெப்பமயமாதல், அதனால் ஏற்படும் வானிலை மாற்றம், பஞ்சம், வெள்ளம், பனிச்சறுக்கு, காலநிலை மாற்றம், நோய்பரவல் என்று மனித இனம் சந்தித்து வருகிறது.
இது மனிதனை மட்டும் பாதிக்காமல் ஒட்டு மொத்த உயிரினக் கூட்டத்தையே பாதிக்கிறது. அருகிவரும் உயிரினங்கள் பட்டியலில் உள்ள உயிரினங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறது.
மரங்களுக்கும், மனிதர்களுக்கும் இடையிலான உறவு மிகவும் முக்கியமானதாகும். மனிதனின் இருப்புக்கு மரங்கள் அத்தியாவசியம், அவை இல்லையெனில் நாம் சுவாசிக்க காற்று கிடைக்காது. வெப்பநிலை சமன்படுத்தும் முக்கிய பணியை மரங்கள் தான் செய்கின்றன.

சுற்றுச்சூழல் அமைப்பின் மறுசீரமைப்பு என்பது, சுற்றுச்சூழல் மோசமடைவதை தடுப்பது, அம்மாதிரியான செயல்களை நிறுத்துவது மற்றும் ஏற்பட்ட பாதிப்புகளை சரி செய்ய பணியாற்றுவது என ஐநா தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2023: The United Nations has declared the theme for Environment Day 2021 as 'Restructuring of the Ecosystem'.
