Thailand is the first country in Asia to legalize cannabis

  • The Thai government has given legal permission to grow and consume cannabis plants. The Thai government has said the decision is aimed at boosting agriculture and tourism in the country.

Rare lipstick plant discovered 100 years later

  • Krishna Chowlu of the Indian Institute of Botanical Research re-discovered the lipstick plant in December last year and wrote a research paper on the subject.
  • According to it, this lipstick plant belongs to the plant group Aeschynanthus. There are 174 species of plants in this group in Asia. Such plant species are especially common in southern China and India. There are 26 species of plants in India alone.
  • This rare type of lipstick plant has so far been found in Arunachal Pradesh, India and Tibet, China. Arunachal Pradesh is one of the richest biodiversity hotspots in India. Krishna Chowdhury, a scientist at the Botanical Research Institute of India, says experts need to do more serious research here.
