'Top 10' Millionaire - Adani ranked

  • The agreement will benefit exporters of textiles, readymade garments, agro-seafood, leather, footwear, jewelery and machinery in India. Aussie currently imposes a 4 - 5 percent customs duty on exports of these goods.
  • Aussie will import these items duty free due to the new agreement. Similarly, Aussie raw materials, including minerals and coal, can be imported duty free in India.
Union Minister inaugurated the Weaving 2022 Handloom Exhibition in Chennai
  • In an effort to promote Indian handicrafts and handicrafts, the Central Cottage Industry Corporation is organizing the "Weaving 2022" handloom exhibition featuring weavers' handicrafts.
  • The exhibition will be held from April 2 to 12, 2022 in the showroom at Temple Tower Building, Nandanam Anna Salai, Chennai from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Union Minister of State for Textiles inaugurated the exhibition.
  • The Central Cottage Industry Corporation owns a 13,000 sq ft fully air-conditioned outlet in the Temple Tower building located at Nandanam Anna Salai, Chennai.
  • The exhibition showcases handloom saris, shawls, fabrics, clothing, accessories, furniture, home textiles and more exclusively from different parts of the country. India has a rich textile tradition. The exhibition reveals this and is also a platform for cultural and artistic exchange between weavers and art enthusiasts.
  • The main objectives of the exhibition are to encourage the audience to wear handkerchiefs with pride and to imitate handloom products in their daily lives. Such initiatives will sustain the livelihoods of Indian weavers and textile artisans, give them more market opportunities and motivate them by creating a self-sufficient India.
