'Gender Net Development and Policy Laboratory' - R.Priya launches to develop policies for the protection of urban women
- The 'Gender Net Development and Policy Laboratory' has been set up on behalf of the Corporation to formulate policies related to the protection of urban women and to monitor the Nirbhaya project, a women's protection program. Its service was initiated by the Mayor of the Corporation, R. Priya.
- A seminar on Gender Net Development and Policy Laboratory and Training on behalf of the Corporation of Chennai was held at the Ribbon House premises. The Mayor of the Corporation R. Priya participated and inaugurated the seminar.

- The Union Finance Ministry has released the details of GST collection for the month of March. It said: A total of ₹ 1 lakh 42 thousand 95 crore GST was collected in March.
- Of this, union GST is ₹ 25,830 crore, state GST is ₹ 32,378 crore and consolidated GST is 74,470 crore. The consolidated GST collection includes 39,131 crore collected from imported goods.
- Similarly, chess tax was collected at 9,417 crore. Of this, ₹ 981 crore came from taxes on imported goods.
- Last month's GST collection was 15 per cent higher than the same month last year. Moreover, a new record has been set by levying an unprecedented amount of GST since the implementation of GST.
- After the implementation of GST on July 1, 2017, the maximum collection in January was Rs 1.40 lakh crore.
- In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Chandigarh is the only capital of the state and Haryana. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has recently announced that all civil servants working in Chandigarh will be brought under the Central Service Rules.
- In this context, a one-day special session was held today (Apr. 01) in the Punjab Assembly. In it, a bill was passed to link Chandigarh immediately with Punjab.
