Shebaz Sharif elected new Prime Minister of Pakistan

• Shebaz Sharif has been elected the new Prime Minister of Pakistan by a vote of no confidence in the parliament. He is said to be compatible with China and the United States. He was also the Governor of the Punjab Province of Pakistan.

Repeal of General Entrance Examination for Central Universities - Resolution passed in the Legislature

• Leaders of various parties, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, have been protesting against the general entrance examination for students at central universities. In this situation, the government brought a separate resolution in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

• The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched a state-of-the-art transportation system for Indian cities with state-of-the-art communication and accident prevention technology.
• This mode of transport is based on locally developed and vehicle-assisted driving assistance and warning system (OTAWS), bus signal priority procedure, and COSMIC.
• The Practical Modernization Computer Development Center was jointly developed by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chennai. Mahindra & Mahindra was the industry partner for this project.

The anti-artillery guided missile ‘Helena’ was successfully tested

• The anti-artillery guided missile ‘Helena’ was launched from a locally made helicopter on April 11, 2022 and was successfully tested at high altitudes. The test was conducted jointly by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.
• This test was performed as part of a user verification exercise. The test was conducted from a sophisticated light helicopter and the missile hit its artillery target accurately. This missile is one of the most advanced anti-aircraft devices in the world.
