A special memorial seat for General Pipin Rawat has been set up at the Integrated Service Institute of India
- The Indian Army has dedicated a special seat at the United Service Institution of India (USI) on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the late Commander-in-Chief of the Security Forces, General Pipin Rawat.
- The formal announcement was made by General MM Narawane, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Commander-in-Chief, at a ceremony held in the South Block on 15 March 2022.
- Senior officers of the three forces were present at the event. A check for Rs. Sharma (Retired), Director, Integrated Service Company of India, handed over to them. This amount will be paid in honorarium to the nominee.
- Samsung is setting up a compressor manufacturing project in Perumbavoor at a cost of Rs 1,588 crore to employ 600 people. In this connection, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government of Tamil Nadu and Samsung in the presence of Chief Minister Stalin.
- In 2006, Samsung set up a factory in Perumbavoor with an investment of Rs 450 crore to manufacture 2,500 color TV sets, computer screens, refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines. The plant was inaugurated on November 13, 2007 by the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi.
- In this case, the next contract has been signed. It plans to produce 80 lakh compressors a year by the end of this year and 1.44 crore by the end of 2024.
- The central government has launched a Rs 19,000 crore riverine afforestation project along the banks of 13 rivers, including the Cauvery, Yamuna and Brahmaputra.
- The project is to be jointly implemented by the Central Department of Environment and the Department of Water Power. The afforestation project will be implemented along 13 major rivers at a cost of Rs 19,000 crore. This will increase the forest cover in the country to about 7,417.36 sq km.
- Groundwater will be increased through afforestation project. Further sedimentary soil areas will be reduced. In addition, non-timber and forest products worth Rs 449.01 crore will be available, according to the Central Environment Department.
- The final of the Shotgun World Cup was held in Nicosia, Cyprus. The Indian men's team beat Poland and Turkey to win the silver medal.
- The Indian team comprising Prithviraj Thondaiman, Vivan Kapoor and Jorwar Singh Chandu scored 214 points. But Kuwait won the gold medal by just 3 points more than India.
- But India captured the silver medal as they scored more points than the Polish and Turkish teams. The third-placed Polish team won the bronze medal. The Polish team had 208 points. Turkey finished 4th with 207 points.
- Awards presentation ceremony for the year 2022 on behalf of the Tamil Development Department was held at the Chennai Kalaivanar Arangal. Chief Minister MK Stalin presented awards to Tamil scholars who have contributed to the development of the Tamil language and literature and the upliftment of the Tamil community. A total of 21 awards were given to Tamil scholars, Tamil organizations and monthly magazines.
