- பல்வேறு துறைகளில் சிறப்பாக செயல்படும் பெண்களை கவுரவிக்கும் வகையில் மத்திய அரசின் பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் மேம்பாட்டு அமைச்சகத்தால் ஆண்டுதோறும் பெண்சக்தி விருது (நாரி சக்தி புரஸ்கார்) வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
- தொழில்முனைவு, வேளாண்மை, சமூகப் பணி, கல்வி, இலக்கியம், மொழியியல், கலைகள், அறிவியல் தொழில்நுட்பம், பொறியியல், கணிதம், ஊனமுற்றோர் உரிமைகள், வனவிலங்குகள் பாதுகாப்பு என பல்வேறு துறைகளை சேர்ந்த பெண்கள் இவ்விருதுக்கு தேர்வு செய்யப்படுகின்றனர்.
- இந்நிலையில் 2020 மற்றும் 2021-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான பெண் சக்தி விருது வழங்கும் விழா, சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினமான நேற்று குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மாளிகையில் நடைபெற்றது. இதில் நாட்டின் தலைசிறந்த 29 பெண்களுக்கு பெண் சக்தி விருதுகளை குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் வழங்கினார்.
- சமூக தொழில்முனைவாளர் அனிதா குப்தா, இயற்கை விவசாயியும் பழங்குடியின செயற்பாட்டாளருமான உஷா பென் தினேஷ்பாய் வாசவா, கண்டுபிடிப்பாளர் நசிரா அக்தர், இன்டெல் -இண்டியா நிறுவன தலைமை நிர்வாகி நிவ்ருதி ராய், மாற்றுத்திறளாளி கதக் நடனக் கலைஞர் சைலி நந்தகிஷோர், கணிதவியல் அறிஞர் நீனா குப்தா உள்ளிட்டோர் இவ்விருதை பெற்றுக்கொண்டனர்.
- தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த 3 பெண்களுக்கும் பெண் சக்தி விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. நீலகிரி மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த தோடா எம்பிராய்டரி கைவினைஞர்களான ஜெயமுத்து, தேஜம்மா ஆகிய இருவருக்கும் 2020-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான பெண் சக்தி விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. மனநல மருத்துவரும் ஆராய்ச்சியாளருமான தாரா ரங்கசாமிக்கு 2021-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான பெண் சக்தி விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- ஜெயமுத்து, தேஜம்மா ஆகிய இருவரும் பள்ளி நாட்களில் இருந்து தோடா எம்பிராய்டரி கொண்ட சால்வைகள் மற்றும் ஆடைகளை உருவாக்கி வருகின்றனர்.
- டாக்டர் தாரா ரங்கசாமி, சென்னையில் உள்ள ஸ்கிசோப்ரினியா ஆராய்ச்சி அறக்கட்டளையின் (ஸ்கார்ப்) இணை நிறுவனர் மற்றும் துணைத் தலைவராக உள்ளார்.
- The Narsakthi Shakti Award (Nari Shakti Puraskar) is given annually by the Ministry of Women and Child Development of the Central Government in recognition of women who have excelled in various fields.
- Women from various fields such as entrepreneurship, agriculture, social work, education, literature, linguistics, arts, science and technology, engineering, mathematics, disability rights and wildlife protection are selected for the award.
- The Women's Empowerment Awards Ceremony for 2020 and 2021 was held at the Presidential Palace on International Women's Day yesterday. President Ramnath Govind presented the Women's Power Awards to the country's top 29 women.
- Social entrepreneur Anita Gupta, nature farmer and tribal activist Usha Ben Dineshbai Vasava, inventor Nasira Akhtar, Intel India CEO Nivruti Roy, alternative Kathak dancer Cylie Nandakishore and mathematician Nina Gupta were among the recipients.
- Female Shakti Award was given to 3 women from Tamil Nadu. Jayamuthu and Tejamma, Doda Embroidery Craftsmen from the Nilgiris District, were presented with the Women's Power Award 2020. Psychiatrist and researcher Tara Rangasamy has been awarded the 2021 Female Power Award.
- Jayamuthu and Tejamma have been making shawls and dresses with Doda embroidery since school days. Dr. Tara Rangasamy is the Co-Founder and Vice President of the Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARP) in Chennai.
