Waste management in the country
- Under the e-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016, 21 types of electrical and electronic devices have been declared. These will become e-waste at the end of their lives
- Nationwide, in the financial years 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20, 7,08,445 tonnes, 7,71,215 and 10,14,961.2 tonnes of electricity was generated respectively.
- Regulated under the Hazardous and Other Waste (Management and Cross-border Transport) Rules, 2016, issued by the Ministry of Import and Export of Hazardous and Other Waste.
- The government has banned the import of electronic waste since 04-04-2016. The increase in e-waste is due to the increase in sales of electrical and electronic devices in the country in previous years.
The President inaugurated the annual "Garden Festival" of the Presidential Palace
- The annual "Garden Festival" of the Presidential Palace was presided over by President Mr. Ramnath Govind opened today (10.02.2022).
- Following this, the Mughal Garden of the Presidential Palace will be open to the public from February 12, 2022 to March 16, 2022 (excluding maintenance day Mondays) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last admission 4 p.m.).
Munishwarnath Bandari appointed Chief Justice of Chennai High Court
- President Ramnath Govind has appointed Muneeswarnath Bandari as the new Chief Justice of the Chennai High Court. The Supreme Court collegium had earlier recommended the appointment of Muniswarnath Bandari as the Chief Justice of the High Court.
- He has been appointed Chief Justice of the High Court by President Ramnath Govind. Accordingly, Muneeswarnath Bandari will soon take over as the Chief Justice of the Chennai High Court.
- Meanwhile, Sanjeev Banerjee, who was the Chief Justice of the Chennai High Court on the recommendation of the collegium, has been transferred to the Meghalaya High Court.
Forty satellites trapped in the solar storm entered the atmosphere and burned
- The solar storm, which struck last Friday, thickened the atmosphere. As a result, 40 of the 49 small satellites launched last week (260 kg per satellite) orbited away from Earth's orbit and burned back into the atmosphere.
- Some satellites are on the verge of deviating from Earth's orbit. Efforts to avert the crash ended in failure. This incident did not cause any danger to the Earth orbit or the Earth.
- SpaceX's about 2,000 Stalling satellites orbit the Earth. Through them, e-service is being made available to distant places in the world. The satellites are said to orbit the earth at an altitude of more than 340 miles.
GDP growth to be 7.8 per cent - RBI

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cut the repo rate by 1.15 per cent since March 2020.
- Retail inflation will be 4.5 per cent in FY22-23 and 5.3 per cent in FY21-22.
- The gross domestic product (GDP) for the coming financial year will be 7.8 percent.
- The maximum limit for prepaid digital vouchers called e-Ruby is currently 10,000. It is being raised to 1 lakh. Also, you can use this voucher more than once.
- The NACH limit for business transactions has been raised from 1 crore to 3 crore.
- The VRR scheme was introduced for foreign institutional investors investing in Indian bonds. The scheme raises the investment limit for foreign investors from ₹ 1 trillion to ₹ 2.5 trillion from April 1, according to the Reserve Bank.
