  • 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்குள் நாட்டில் உள்ள அனைத்து வீடுகளுக்கும் சுத்தமான குழாய் நீரை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்ற பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடியின் தொலைநோக்குப் பார்வையை நிறைவேற்றும் வகையில், கோவிட்-19 தொற்றுநோய் பரவல் மற்றும் ஊரடங்கு போன்ற இடையூறுகள் இருந்தபோதிலும், இரண்டரை ஆண்டுகளில், ஜல் ஜீவன் திட்டத்தின் மூலம் 5.77 கோடிக்கும் அதிகமான கிராமப்புற குடும்பங்களுக்கு குழாய் மூலம் குடிநீர் நீர் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இதன் விளைவாக இன்று நாட்டில் உள்ள 9 கோடி கிராமப்புற குடும்பங்கள் சுத்தமான குழாய் நீர் விநியோகத்தின் பலனைப் பெற்றுள்ளன. ஆகஸ்ட் 15, 2019 அன்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த திட்டத்தின்படி, இந்தியாவில் உள்ள 19.27 கோடி குடும்பங்களில் 3.23 கோடி (17%) குடும்பங்கள் மட்டுமே குழாய் நீர் இணைப்புகளைக் கொண்டுள்ளன.
  • பிரதமரின் 'அனைவரின் ஆதரவு, அனைவருக்கும் வளர்ச்சி, அனைவரின் நம்பிக்கை, மற்றும் அனைவரின் முயற்சி' என்ற கொள்கையை பின்பற்றி, இந்தக் குறுகிய காலத்தில், 98 மாவட்டங்கள், 1,129 தொகுதிகள், 66,067 கிராம பஞ்சாயத்துகள் மற்றும் 1,36,135 கிராமங்கள், சுத்தமான குடிநீர் இணைப்பு உள்ள இல்லங்களாக மாறியுள்ளன.
  • கோவா, ஹரியாணா, தெலங்கானா, அந்தமான் - நிக்கோபார் தீவுகள், புதுச்சேரி, தாதர் - நகர் ஹவேலி,டாமன் மற்றும் டையூவில் ஒவ்வொரு கிராமப்புற வீட்டிலும் குழாய் நீர் விநியோகம் உள்ளது.
  • பஞ்சாப் (99%), இமாச்சலப் பிரதேசம் (92.4%), குஜராத் (92%) மற்றும் பிஹார் (90%) போன்ற இன்னும் பல மாநிலங்கள் 2022-ம் ஆண்டிற்குள் சுத்தமான குடிநீரை குழாய் மூலம் பெரும் இல்லங்களாக மாறிவிடும் நிலையில் உள்ளன.
  • ஐந்தாண்டுகளில் ஒவ்வொரு கிராமப்புற குடும்பங்களுக்கும் குழாய் மூலம் குடிநீர் வழங்குவதற்கான மாபெரும் பணியை நிறைவேற்ற, 3.60 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாய் நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
  • 2022-23 -ம் நிதியாண்டிற்கான மத்திய பட்ஜெட்டில் 3.8 கோடி வீடுகளுக்கு குழாய் மூலம் குடிநீர் நீர் வழங்கும் வகையில் இத்திட்டத்திற்கு ரூ 60,000 கோடி நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • 2021-22-ம் நிதியாண்டில் 26,940 கோடி ரூபாய் மாநிலங்களுக்கு 15வது நிதிக் குழுவின் பரிந்துரையின் படி கிராமப்புற உள்ளாட்சி அமைப்புகள் / பஞ்சாயத்து ராஜ் அமைப்புகளுக்கு தண்ணீர் மற்றும் சுகாதாரத்திற்காக மானியமாக ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
  • அடுத்த ஐந்தாண்டுகளுக்கு அதாவது 2025-26 -ம் ஆண்டு வரை ரூ.1,42,084 கோடி நிதிஉதவி வழங்க உறுதியளிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது. இது போன்ற முதலீடுகள் மூலம் நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள கிராமப்புறங்களில், பொருளாதார நடவடிக்கைகளை துரிதப்படுத்தி கிராமப்புறப் பொருளாதாரம் மேம்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. அத்துடன் கிராமங்களில் வேலை வாய்ப்புக்களையும் உருவாக்குகிறது.
  • முந்தைய தண்ணீர் விநியோகத் திட்டங்களில் இருந்து ஒரு முன்னுதாரணமாக, ஜல் ஜீவன் திட்டம் தண்ணீர் விநியோகத்திற்கான உள்கட்டமைப்பை உருவாக்குவதற்கான நடவடிக்கைகள், தண்ணீர் விநியோகம் ஆகியவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்துகிறது. எவரையும் விட்டுவிடாமல் சுத்தமான குடிநீர் வழங்குவதே ஜல் ஜீவன் திட்டத்தின் குறிக்கோளாகும்.
  • இதனால் ஒவ்வொரு குடும்பமும் அதன் சமூக-பொருளாதார நிலை வேறுபாடின்றி, குழாய் நீர் விநியோகத்தைப் பெறுவது உறுதி செய்யப் படுகிறது. 
  • பல நூற்றாண்டுகளாக வீடுகளுக்கு தண்ணீர் கொண்டு வருவதற்கு தாய்மார்கள் மற்றும் சகோதரிகள் படும் சிரமத்தைக் களைந்து அவர்களின் சுதந்திரத்திற்காக ஜல் ஜீவன் இயக்கம் பாடுபடுகிறது. அவர்களின் உடல்நலம், கல்வி மற்றும் சமூக-பொருளாதாரத்தையும் மேம்படுத்துகிறது.

  • In fulfillment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of providing clean tap water to all households in the country by 2024, over two and a half years, the Jal Jeevan project has provided tap water to more than 5.77 crore rural households, despite obstacles such as the spread of the Govt-19 epidemic and curfew.
  • As a result today 9 crore rural households in the country have benefited from clean tap water supply. According to the scheme announced on August 15, 2019, out of 19.27 crore households in India, only 3.23 crore (17%) households have piped water connections.
  • Following the Prime Minister's policy of 'Support for All, Growth for All, Hope for All, and Effort for All', in this short span of time, 98 districts, 1,129 constituencies, 66,067 gram panchayats and 1,36,135 villages have become households with clean drinking water connections.
  • Every rural household in Goa, Haryana, Telangana, Andaman - Nicobar Islands, Pondicherry, Dadar - Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu has piped water supply. Many more states like Punjab (99%), Himachal Pradesh (92.4%), Gujarat (92%) and Bihar (90%) are poised to become major households with clean drinking water by 2022.
  • 3.60 lakh crore has been allocated to complete the massive task of providing piped drinking water to every rural household in five years. In the federal budget for 2022-23, Rs 60,000 crore has been earmarked for the project to provide piped drinking water to 3.8 crore households.
  • In the financial year 2021-22, Rs. 26,940 crore has been allocated to the states for water and sanitation as grant to rural local bodies / panchayat raj bodies as per the recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission.
  • It has pledged Rs 1,42,084 crore over the next five years, till 2025-26. Through such investments, the rural economy is being enhanced by accelerating economic activity in rural areas across the country. As well as creating jobs in the villages.
  • As an example from previous water supply projects, the Jal Jeevan project focuses on measures to create infrastructure for water supply and water supply. The goal of the Jal Jeevan project is to provide clean drinking water without leaving anyone behind.
  • This ensures that every family has access to piped water, irrespective of their socio-economic status. The Jal Jeevan movement has been working for their independence for centuries, overcoming the difficulty of mothers and sisters in bringing water to their homes. It also improves their health, education and socio-economic status.
