40th National Sub-Junior Badminton Championship
- The 40th National Sub-Junior Badminton Championship was held in Andhra Pradesh from the 8th to the 12th of this month. The Tamil Nadu women's team won the gold medal in the series which was attended by teams from 18 states. Tamil Nadu beat Karnataka 35-24 and 35-26 in the semi-finals.
- In the ensuing final, the Tamil Nadu women's team defeated Andhra Pradesh 35-28, 28-35, 35-28. S. Samitha, a student of Kattivakkam Government High School, Tiruvallur district was also included in the Tamil Nadu team. The team was coached by I. Charles Rajkumar and managed by Ramesh.
- The 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, one of the leaders of the Indian liberation struggle, was celebrated. In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an important announcement on the 21st.
