- தமிழ்நாடு அரசு வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிவிப்பில், 'தமிழ்நாடு அரசு ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும், சமூக நீதிக்காகப் பாடுபடுபவர்களைச் சிறப்பு செய்யும் வகையில் சமூக நீதிக்கான தந்தை பெரியார் விருதினை வழங்கி கௌரவித்து வருகிறது.
- அந்தவகையில் 2021-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான சமூகநீதிக்கான தந்தை பெரியார் விருது திராவிட இயக்க ஆய்வாளரும், எழுத்தாளருமான திருநாவுக்கரசுக்கு வழங்கிட தமிழ்நாடு அரசு முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
- சமூக நீதிக்கான தந்தை பெரியார் விருது பெறத் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள திருநாவுக்கரசு திராவிட இயக்கத்தின் நடமாடும் கலைக்கலைஞ்சியம் என தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்தால் போற்றப்படுபவர்.
- திராவிட இயக்க வரலாலான நீதிக் கட்சி வரலாறு என்னும் நாவலை அது 1916-ல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது முதல் 1944-ல் திராவிடர் கழகம் என பெயர் மாற்றம் பெற்றது வரை இரண்டு தொகுதிகளாகப் படைத்துள்ளார்.
- மேலும், திராவிட இயக்க வேர்கள், திராவிட இயக்கத் தூண்கள் போன்ற பல்வேறு வரலாற்று நூல்களையும் எழுதி தமிழ்ச்சான்றோர்களின் பாராட்டுகளைப் பெற்றவர்.
- இவரது எழுத்துப் பணியைப் போற்றும் வகையில் 2006-ம் ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாடு அரசின் திரு.வி.க விருது அப்போதைய முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி கரங்களால் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- அதேபோன்று ஆதிதிராவிடர் மற்றும் பழங்குடியின மக்களின் முன்னேற்றத்துக்காக அரும்பாடுபட்டுவரும் தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில் ஆண்டுதோறும் டாக்டர் அம்பேத்கர் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு விருது வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
- அந்த வகையில் 2021-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான டாக்டர் அம்பேத்கர் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு விருது சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற முன்னாள் நீதிபதி கே.சந்துருவுக்கு வழங்கிட தமிழ்நாடு அரசு முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
- டாக்டர் அம்பேத்கர் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு விருது பெறத் தேர்வு செய்யப்படுள்ள சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற முன்னாள் நீதிபதி சந்துரு தன்னுடைய பணிக் காலத்தில் 96,000 வழக்குகளுக்குத் தீர்வு கண்டு சாதனைப் படைத்தவர்.
- இவர் சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் குற்றவியல் மற்றும் உரிமையியல் வழக்குகளை வழக்காடும் வழக்கறிஞராகப் பணியாற்றி, ஏழை எளிய மக்கள் மற்றும் தொழிலாளர்களின் குரலாய் உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஒலித்து மாபெரும் சாதனை படைத்தவர்.
- இவர் அளித்த பல்வேறு தீர்ப்புகள் ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களின் நலன் காப்பதாக அமைந்திருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. மேலும், சாதிய வேறுபாடுகள், ஒடுக்கப்பட்டோர், பட்டியலின மக்கள் மற்றும் பழங்குடியினர் உரிமை மறுப்பு ஆகியவற்றுக்கு எதிரான இவரது தீர்ப்புகளால் மக்களிடையை மிகுந்த நன்மதிப்பைப் பெற்றார்' என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- அந்தவகையில், சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்ற மேனாள் நீதியரசர் சந்துருவிற்கு டாக்டர் அம்பேத்கர் விருதும், திராவிட இயக்க ஆய்வாளர் க.திருநாவுக்கரசுவிற்கு சமூகநீதிக்கான தந்தை பெரியார் விருதும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- இந்த விருதுக்கான பரிசுத்தொகை ரூ.1 லட்சம் என்றிருந்த நிலையில், அது தற்போது ரூ.5 லட்சமாக உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. விருது பெற்றோருக்கு தங்கப்பதக்கம், விருதுக்கான பரிசுத்தொகை, தகுதியுரை ஆகியவற்றை ஜன.15ம் தேதியான திருவள்ளுவர் தினத்தன்று தமிழ்நாடு முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் வழங்க உள்ளார்.

- In a statement, the Government of Tamil Nadu said, 'Every year, the Government of Tamil Nadu honors the Thanthai Periyar Award for Social Justice in recognition of those who strive for social justice.
- Accordingly, the Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to present the Thanthai Periyar Award for Social Justice for the year 2021 to Thirunavukarasu, a Dravida movement analyst and writer.
- Thirunavukarasu, who has been selected to receive the Thanthai Periyar Award for Social Justice, is hailed by the Tamil community as the mobile encyclopedia of the Dravidian movement.
- He has written the novel History of the Justice Party, a history of the Dravidian movement, in two volumes from its inception in 1916 until its renaming as the Dravidar League in 1944.
- He is also the author of various historical books on the roots of the Dravidian movement and the pillars of the Dravidian movement.
- In recognition of his writing work, the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi presented the Thiru.V.Ka Award of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2006.
- Similarly, the Dr. Ambedkar Government of Tamil Nadu Award is given annually to encourage people from Tamil Nadu who are striving for the betterment of the Adithravidar and Indigenous peoples.
- The Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to present the Dr. Ambedkar Tamil Nadu Government Award for the year 2021 to former Chennai High Court Judge K. Chandru.
- Former Chennai High Court Judge Chandru, who has been selected to receive the Dr. Ambedkar Tamil Nadu Government Award, has achieved a record 96,000 cases during his tenure.
- He has worked as a lawyer prosecuting criminal and legal cases in the Chennai High Court and has made a great contribution to the voice of the poor and working people in the High Court.
- It is noteworthy that the various judgments he delivered were in the interest of the oppressed people. He was also well-respected by the people for his rulings against caste discrimination, oppression, discrimination against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- Accordingly, Dr. Ambedkar Award has been announced for Chennai High Court Chief Justice Chandru and Dravida Movement Analyst K. Thirunavukarasu has been awarded the Father Periyar Award for Social Justice.
- While the prize money for this award was Rs 1 lakh, it has now been increased to Rs 5 lakh. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin will present the Gold Medal, Prize money and merit award to the award parents on January 15 on Thiruvalluvar Day.
