• பாரதிதாசன் பல்கலைகழக (Bharathidasan University) பொருளியல் மற்றும் மகளிரியல் துறை சார்பாக பெண் தொழில் முனைவோர்களின் முன்னேற்றம் குறித்து நடத்திய ஆய்வுகளின் வழியாக இவர்கள் கட்டமைப்பு ரீதியாக, உளவியல், சமூக, பொருளாதார ரீதியாக மிகுந்த சிரமங்களை எதிர்கொள்கிறார்கள். 
• அந்த சிரமங்களை நிறுவன ரீதியாக எதிர்கொள்ளும் விதமாக மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர்களை ஒருங்கிணைப்பதற்காக உருவாக்கப்பட்டதே தமிழ்நாடு மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர் சங்கம் (WEAT- WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ASSOCIATION OF TAMIL NADU). 
• இது 2006 ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து வெற்றிகரமாக செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது . இது திருச்சியை தலைமையிடமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.
• பாரதிதாசன் பல்கலைகழக பொருளியல் மற்றும் மகளிரியல் துறை இச்சங்கம் உருப்பெறுவதற்கு ஒரு முக்கிய கருவியாக மட்டுமல்லாது தொடர்ச்சியாக தனது ஆதரவினை அளித்து வருகிறது.
• தொழில் முனைவின் வழியாக பெண்களை சக்தியாக்கம் பெற செய்வது என்ற பரந்த நோக்கில் மகளிர் தொழிமுனைவோருக்கு தேவையான அனைத்து உதவிகளையும் WEAT (தமிழ்நாடு மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர் சங்கம்) செய்வது வருகிறது.
• சமுதாயத்தின் அடிமட்டத்தில் பல்வேறு திறமைகளையும், ஆளுமை பண்புகளையும் உள்ளடக்கிய பல பெண்கள் முன்னேற, அவர்களுக்காக உதவிக்கரம் நீட்டி எவ்வித பாகுபாடுமின்றி அனைவரது முன்னேற்றத்திற்கும் பெரிதும் பாடுபட்டு அவர்களுக்கு ஒவ்வொரு நிலையிலும் தகுந்த ஆலோசனைகளையும், ஆதரவையும் பெண் தொழில் முனைவோர்களுக்கு அளித்து வருகிறது.

WEAT-ன் குறிக்கோள்கள் (Objectives)

• தொழில்முனைவில் ஒருங்கிணைந்த உத்தியை கையாண்டு பரந்த தொழில்முனைவு தளத்தை உருவாக்குதே WEAT-ன் (தமிழ்நாடு மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர் சங்கம்) முதன்மை நோக்கமாகும்.
• சுய தொழில் புரிய விருப்பமுள்ள பெண்களுக்கு சிறு, குறு தொழில்கள் தொடங்குவதற்கு உறுதுணையாக இருந்து அவர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை மேம்படுத்துதல்.
• பெண்களை பொருளாதார நிலையில் மேம்படச் செய்வது .

WEAT-ன் சேவைகள் (Services)

• பெண்களுக்கு பல்வேறு தொழில் சார்ந்த பயிற்சிகளை (Training) பல்வேறு நிறுவனத்தின் மூலம் வழங்குகிறது.
• வங்கி கடனுதவிக்கு (Bank Loan) ஏற்பாடு செய்கிறது .
• பல்வேறு தொழில்களுக்கு திட்ட அறிக்கை (Project Report) தயாரிக்க ஆலோசனை வழங்குகிறது மற்றும் தயாரித்தும் கொடுக்கிறது.
• மாவட்ட தொழில் மையத்தின் (District Industrial Center) மூலம் மானிய உதவி தொகை பெறுவதற்கு உதவி புரிகிறது .
• தொழில் ரீதியான ஆலோசனைக்கு (Advices) சம்மந்தப்பட்ட நிறுவனங்களின் மூலம் தொடர்பு ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுக்கிறது .
• சிறு தொழில் சான்றிதழ் பதிவு (Small Scale Industry Registration) செய்ய ஏற்பாடு செய்கிறது .
• தொழில்களுக்கு தேவையான சான்றிதழ் (License) பெற உதவுகிறது .
• சந்தைப்படுத்துதலுக்கு வாய்ப்பு (Marketing Opportunity) ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுக்கிறது, மற்றும் சந்தைபடுத்துதல், விற்பனைகளுக்கு ஆலோசனை வழங்குகிறது.
• பல தொழில் முனைவோர்களுக்கிடையே தொடர்பை (Network) ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுக்கிறது.
• அரசின் தொழில் சட்டதிட்டங்களையும் (Formalities) பின்பற்ற வழிகாட்ட உதவுகிறது.
• ஏற்றுமதி (Export) செய்யப்படும் பொருள்கள் கிடைக்கும் இடம் பற்றி வழிகாட்டுகிறது.
• இயந்திரங்கள் (Machinery) மற்றும் மூலப்பொருள்கள் (Raw Material) மற்றும் உபகரணங்கள் (Equipment) இடங்களை பற்றி அறிந்து கொள்ளலாம் .
• தொழில் தொடங்குவதற்கு ஆலோசனைகளை வழங்குகிறது.
• தொழில் முனைவோர்களுக்கு தன்னம்பிக்கையை (Self Confident) ஊட்டுகிறது, தைரியத்தை (Courage) கொடுக்கிறது, ஊக்கப்படுத்துகிறது.

• Bharathidasan University's Department of Economics and Gynecology's research on the advancement of female entrepreneurs reveals structural, psychological, social and economic difficulties. 
• The Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurs Association (WEAT- WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ASSOCIATION OF TAMIL NADU) was formed to co-ordinate women entrepreneurs to face those difficulties institutionally. It has been operating successfully since 2006. It is headquartered in Trichy.
• Bharathidasan University Department of Economics and Gynecology is not only an important tool for the formation of the association but also its continued support.
• WEAT (Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurs Association) has been providing all necessary assistance to women entrepreneurs with the broad objective of empowering women through entrepreneurship.
• At the grassroots level of society, many women with different talents and personality traits have been working hard for the betterment of all, without any discrimination, giving them the advice and support they deserve at every level.

Objectives of the WEAT

• The primary objective of WEAT (Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurs Association) is to create a broader entrepreneurship platform using an integrated strategy in entrepreneurship.
• Encouraging self-employed women to start small and micro businesses and improve their livelihood.
• Improving the economic status of women.

• Provides various vocational trainings for women through various organizations.
• Arranges a Bank Loan.
• Advises and prepares Project Reports for various industries.
• Assistance in obtaining grants through the District Industrial Center.
• Liaises with companies involved in professional advice.
• Arranges for Small Scale Industry Registration.
