Information on funds allocated to the Northeastern States
- To ensure that more financial resources flow into the Northeast, Union Ministries and Departments allocate 10 per cent of their total budgets to the Northeast region for federal sector projects and federally supported projects.
- According to the data in the budget documents, the expenditure on the Northeast region of Union Ministries and Departments from 2014-15 to 2020-21 was Rs 2,65,766.67 crore. A total of 101 special packages have been approved for Assam from 2003 to 2020 with an allocation of Rs 979.38 crore. 99.24 crore has been allocated in the last 2 years alone.
- The Northeast Development Fund has disbursed Rs 319.43 crore in 2019-20 and Rs 311.29 crore in 2020-21 to companies / individuals in the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
- So far 21 start-ups in the Northeastern states have invested. Start-ups investing in these states are funded by the Northeast Company Fund. 21 companies have been funded so far. In addition, 3875 jobs were created in the Northeastern states from 2017-18 to 2021-22.
- On November 29, the state-level project approval committee approved Rs 1,816 crore worth of drinking water supply projects for Rajasthan. The project will provide drinking water connection to 2,348 villages in 20 districts of the state. 3.8 lakh households in rural areas will be provided piped drinking water.
- Special attention will be given on a priority basis to provide quality drinking water to the 16 districts affected by water scarcity. State level project approval committees are being set up and approved for rural drinking water projects under the Jaljivan movement.
- The Prime Minister said that clean water should be provided through taps to every household in rural areas. To confirm Narendra Modi's vision, Rajasthan has been approved a grant of Rs 10,180.50 crore for 2021-22.
- The central government last year allocated Rs 2,522.03 crore to implement the Jaljivan movement in the state to alleviate the plight of women and girls who walk long distances and fetch water.

- When the project was launched in 2019, only 3.23 crore (17%) pipe connections were provided. In the last 27 months, despite the Kovid epidemic and curfew, the Jaljeevan movement has been rapidly activated and 5.35 crore rural households have been provided with drinking water connections.
- Currently 8.59 crore (44.6%) connections are provided across the country. Goa, Telangana. The states of Haryana and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Pondicherry, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Diu and Damon Union Territories have been provided with 100 per cent drinking water connection. Currently, drinking water is being piped to every household in more than 1.25 lakh villages in 83 districts.
- The U.S. government has projected a GDP growth rate of 8.4% for the July-September quarter of fiscal 2021-2022. Despite the staggering 20.1 per cent growth in the June quarter of the current fiscal, the GDP growth rate is on track for the fourth consecutive quarter.

- Israeli Heron spy planes are already in use in the Indian Army. These are involved in spying on the Ladakh border. The Federal Ministry of Defense has purchased sophisticated Heron spy planes upgraded in this context from Israel.
- Accordingly 4 Herons have been added to the Indian Army. These will be flown over the Ladakh border as the Chinese military threat grows. Modern Heron spy planes can fly continuously for 52 hours at an altitude of 35,000 feet. Currently these are to be used only for espionage.

- It has been announced that action will be taken to link the district headquarters and the taluka headquarters. For this, the Government of Tamil Nadu has given permission for the Chief Minister's Road Development Project to convert 2,200 km of State Highways into four lanes.
- Similarly, 6,700 km of roads will be widened to two lanes. The government has also stated that if there are already ground bridges on the roads planned to be widened, they will be converted into high level bridges.
