Anju Bobby George wins Best Female Award on behalf of the World Athletics Association
- The World Athletics Federation's annual awards ceremony was held in Monaco. It was announced that the award for the best woman of the year will be given to the famous Indian former athlete Anju Bobby George.
- He received the award for developing the talents of young athletes and for promoting gender equality. Anju won a bronze medal in the long jump at the 2003 World Championships. He thus became the only Indian to win a medal at the World Championships.
- Gujarat recorded a GDP growth of 15.9 per cent in GDP (GVA) between 2012 and 2020. The original value was Rs. 5.11 lakh crore, according to a statement issued by the Reserve Bank of India.
- The manufacturing sector in Maharashtra has an annual growth rate of 7.5 per cent and its revenue is Rs 4.43 lakh crore. However, it has been pointed out that Maharashtra is a leading state in the service sector. Rajasthan (3.8%), Telangana (5.5%) and Andhra Pradesh (6.9%) are among the worst performing states in the top 10 list.
- Among the other states with high production, Tamil Nadu is worth Rs. 3.43 lakh crore, Karnataka Rs. 2.1 lakh crore and Uttar Pradesh Rs. 1.87 lakh crore. The country's overall manufacturing growth is estimated at Rs. 16.9 lakh crore. This is mainly due to the high investment made in Gujarat.
- Headquartered in New Delhi, Ipco operates and manufactures and markets fertilizers. According to the 'Global Cooperative Monitoring Report 2021' edition published by the Federation of International Cooperative Societies, Ipco has topped the list of co-operative societies. According to Ipco, the rankings are based on the company's turnover in terms of per capita GDP.
- In Delhi, the winter session of Parliament began on the 29th. The meeting will run until Dec. 23. The bill repealing the three agricultural laws was tabled on the first day and passed into law on the same day.
- Following this, the dam protection bill was passed in the state legislatures following the Lok Sabha today. After a long debate, the bill was passed by voice vote in the state legislature. The bill passed in both houses of parliament will be sent to the President for approval.
- President Ram Nath Govind today (02.12.2021) inaugurated the 5th International Ambedkar Conference in New Delhi, jointly organized by the Federation of Members of Parliament, SC and ST, and the Dr. Ambedkar Chamber of Commerce.
- It is the policy of the Government to promote all Indian languages, including endangered languages. The Government of India has launched a program for the conservation of endangered Indian languages.
- Under this scheme, the Central Institute for Indian Languages in Mysore is involved in the conservation and documentation of all mother tongues / languages of India spoken by less than 10,000 people.
- In the first phase of the project, 117 endangered languages / mother tongues from across India have been selected for priority research and documentation. The University Grants Commission has launched two programs to protect endangered languages.
- The University Grants Commission and the Central Institute for Indian Languages have released Rs 45.89 crore for this purpose from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
