- விவசாயிகளின் வருவாயை அதிகரிக்க அரசு எடுத்துவரும் நடவடிக்கைகளின் முக்கிய அங்கமாக இந்திய ரயில்வே திகழ்கிறது. கிசான் ரயில்களின் அறிமுகம் மூலம் நாடு தழுவிய அணுகல் விவசாயிகளுக்கு கிடைத்துள்ளது.
- பழங்கள், காய்கறிகள், ஆட்டிறைச்சி, கோழி இறைச்சி, மீன் மற்றும் பால் பொருட்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அழுகக்கூடிய பொருட்களை உற்பத்தியாகும் அல்லது உபரியாக உள்ள பகுதிகளில் இருந்து நுகரும் அல்லது பற்றாக்குறையாக உள்ள பகுதிகளுக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்கிறது.
- விரைவான போக்குவரத்தின் காரணமாக குறைவான பாதிப்பு ஏற்படுகிறது.
- தொலைதூர, பெரிய மற்றும் கவர்ச்சிகரமான சந்தைகளுக்கு பொருட்களை அனுப்ப ரயில்வேயின் பரந்து விரிந்த வலைப்பின்னல் விவசாயிகளுக்கு உதவுகிறது.
- பல பொருட்களை, பல இடங்களுக்கு எடுத்து செல்வதால், குறைந்த சரக்குகளுடன் கூடிய சிறிய விவசாயிகளும் தொலைதூர, பெரிய சந்தைகளை அணுக முடிகிறது.
- பயண நேரம் மற்றும் செலவு குறைவதால் (பெரிய நகரங்கள் மற்றும் நுகர்வு மையங்களில் உள்ள) நுகர்வோருக்கு குறைந்த விலையில், பண்ணை பசுமை பொருட்கள் கிடைக்கின்றன.

- Indian Railways is an integral part of the Government's efforts to increase the income of farmers. The introduction of Kisan trains has given access to farmers across the country.
- Produces or transports perishable goods, including fruits, vegetables, mutton, poultry, fish and dairy products, from surplus areas to consuming or deficient areas.
- Less impact due to faster traffic.
- The extensive network of railways enables farmers to send goods to distant, large and attractive markets.
- Small farmers with limited inventory are also able to access distant, large markets as they carry multiple items to multiple locations.
- Farm green products are available at lower prices to consumers (in larger cities and consumer centers) due to reduced travel time and cost.
- 50 per cent subsidy on fees for fruits and vegetables (approved by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries under the ‘Operation Green - Top to Total’ scheme).
