- 'சுனாமி' என்ற வார்த்தையை கேட்கும் போதே மனதில் தானாகவே பதற்றம் தொற்றி கொள்கிறது. இந்த வார்த்தை ஜப்பானிய சொல் ஆகும்.
- தமிழில் ஆழிப்பேரலை என்று சுனாமி குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது. கடந்த 17 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் 2004-ல் டிசம்பர் 26-ஆம் தேதி இந்திய பெருங்கடலில் ஏற்பட்ட சுனாமி பேரழிவு இந்தியா, இலங்கை உட்பட 14 நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த லட்சக்கணக்கான மக்களை வாரி சுருட்டி சென்றது நினைவிருக்கலாம்.
- இதில் கடுமையாக பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நாடு தாய்லாந்து ஆகும். இலங்கை, இந்தோனேசியா, இந்தியாவில் மட்டும் சுமார் இரண்டரை லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்கள் இறந்துள்ளதாக புள்ளிவிவரங்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
- இந்தியப் பெருங்கடலில் ஏற்பட்ட இந்த சுனாமியின் கொடிய பேரழிவு கடந்த 100 ஆண்டுகளில் நிகழ்ந்த மற்ற இயற்கை பேரழிவுகளை விட அதிக பாதிப்புகளை ஏற்படுத்தி விட்டு சென்றது.
- இதனிடையே மக்களுக்கு சுனாமி குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நவம்பர் 5-ஆம் தேதி உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
- கடந்த 2015-ம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பரில், ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொது சபை நவம்பர் 5 ஆம் தேதியை உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினமாக அறிவித்தது. அப்போதிலிருந்து ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நவம்பர் 5 அன்று உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு நாள் தொடர்ந்து கடைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
- இந்த நாளில் சுனாமி தொடர்பான விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தவும், இந்த பேரழிவு ஏற்பட்டால் அதன் விளைவாக உண்டாகும் ஆபத்துகளை குறைக்க தேவையான புது அணுகுமுறைகளை பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளவும் நாடுகள், சர்வதேச அமைப்புகள் மற்றும் சிவில் சமூகங்களுக்கு ஐ.நா சபை அழைப்பு விடுத்துள்ளது.
- முக்கியமாக இந்நாள் தாழ்வான தீவுகள் மற்றும் கடலோரப் பகுதிகளில் வசிக்கும் சுமார் 700 மில்லியன் மக்களுக்கு சுனாமி பற்றி யவிழிப்புணர்வை உருவாக்க அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினம் 2021-ன் தீம் Sendai Seven Campaign என்பதாகும். சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு மற்றும் பேரழிவை சமாளிக்க தேவையான திறன்களை ஏற்படுத்த வளரும் நாடுகளுக்கு சர்வதேச நாடுகள் ஒத்துழைப்பு அளிப்பதே இதன் முக்கிய நோக்கம். சுனாமி அபாயத்தைக் குறைப்பதும், அனைத்து பேரிடர்களையும் சமாளிக்கும் திறனை உருவாக்குவதும் முக்கியம்.
- எனவே நடப்பாண்டு கருப்பொருளான Sendai Seven Campaign, வரும் 2030-ம் ஆண்டுக்குள் தற்போதைய கட்டமைப்பை செயல்படுத்த மற்றும் உரிய நடவடிக்கைகளை நிறைவு செய்வதற்கு போதுமான மற்றும் நிலையான ஆதரவு அளிப்பதன் மூலம் வளரும் நாடுகளுக்கு சர்வதேச ஒத்துழைப்பை கணிசமாக மேம்படுத்துவதை நோக்கமாக கொண்டுள்ளது.
- When you hear the word 'tsunami', your mind automatically becomes tense. This word is a Japanese word. Tsunami is referred to as annihilation in Tamil. It may be recalled that the tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004, 17 years ago, swept away millions of people from 14 countries, including India and Sri Lanka.
- The worst affected country is Thailand. Statistics show that more than two and a half lakh people have died in Sri Lanka, Indonesia and India alone. The devastation caused by the tsunami in the Indian Ocean left more devastated than any other natural disaster in the last 100 years.
- Meanwhile, World Tsunami Awareness Day is observed on November 5 every year to create tsunami awareness among the people.
- In December 2015, the United Nations General Assembly declared November 5 as World Tsunami Awareness Day. World Tsunami Awareness Day has been observed on November 5 every year since then.
- On this day, the UN calls on countries, international organizations and civil society to raise awareness about the tsunami and share the new approaches needed to reduce the risks associated with this disaster.
- Mainly today it is observed to create tsunami awareness for about 700 million people living in the lower islands and coastal areas.
- The theme for World Tsunami Awareness Day 2021 is the Sendai Seven Campaign. Its main purpose is to provide international cooperation to developing countries in developing tsunami awareness and disaster response capabilities.
- It is important to reduce the risk of tsunami and develop the ability to deal with all disasters. The current theme, Sendai Seven Campaign, aims to significantly enhance international cooperation with developing countries by providing adequate and sustainable support to implement the current framework and complete the appropriate measures by 2030.
