- நிதி ஆயோக் அமைப்பு இந்திய மாநிலங்களின் பொருளாதார நிலையை பன்முக ஏழ்மை குறியீட்டெண் அடிப்படையில் ஆய்வு செய்துள்ளது.
- பிஹார், ஜார்க்கண்ட், உத்தர பிரதேசம் ஆகிய மாநிலங்கள் முதல் 3 ஏழை மாநிலங்களாக உள்ளன. பிஹார் மக்கள் தொகையில் 51.91 சதவீதத்தினரும், ஜார்க்கண்டில் 42.16 சதவீதத்தினரும், உ.பி.யில் 37.79 சதவீதத்தினரும் ஏழ்மையில் உள்ளனர்.
- ம.பி.யில் 36.65, மேகாலயாவில் 32.67 சதவீதம் ஏழை மக்கள் உள்ளனர். பட்டியலில் கடைசி ஐந்து இடங்களில் கேரளா (0.71%), கோவா (3.76%), சிக்கிம் (3.82%), தமிழ்நாடு (4.89%), பஞ்சாப் (5.59%) மாநிலங்கள் உள்ளன.
- நிதி ஆயோக்கின் இந்த ஏழ்மை குறியீட்டெண் அறிக்கை சர்வதேச அளவில் அங்கீகரிக் கப்பட்ட ஆக்ஸ்போர்ட் ஏழ்மை மற்றும் மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டு திட்டம் மற்றும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் மேம்பாட்டு திட்டம் இணைந்து உருவாக்கிய ஆய்வு முறையின் அடிப்படையில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- இதேபோல் ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாடு உள்ளவர்கள் அதிகம் உள்ள மாநிலங்களிலும் பீகார் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. ஜார்க்கண்ட், மத்தியப் பிரதேசம், உத்தரப் பிரதேசம் மற்றும் சத்தீஸ்கர் ஆகிய மாநிலங்கள் அடுத்த இடங்களில் உள்ளன.
- தாய்மார்களின் ஆரோக்கியம், பள்ளிப்படிப்பு, பள்ளி வருகை, சமையல் எரிபொருள் மற்றும் மின்சார பயன்பாடு ஆகியவற்றிலும் பீகார் மிக மோசமான இடத்தில் உள்ளது.
- The Finance Commission examines the economic status of Indian states based on the Multiple Poverty Index. Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh are the top 3 poorest states. Bihar has 51.91 per cent population, Jharkhand 42.16 per cent and UP 37.79 per cent. MPA has 36.65 per cent and Meghalaya 32.67 per cent poor population.
- The last five places in the list are Kerala (0.71%), Goa (3.76%), Sikkim (3.82%), Tamil Nadu (4.89%) and Punjab (5.59%).
- This Poverty Index report of the Finance Commission is based on a research methodology developed jointly by the internationally recognized Oxford Poverty and Human Resource Development Program and the United Nations Development Program.
- Similarly, Bihar ranks first among the states with the highest number of malnourished people. The states of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are next in line.
- Bihar also ranks worst in maternal health, schooling, school attendance, cooking fuel and electricity usage.
