- பிரிட்டனின் கிளாஸ்கோவில் பருவநிலை மாற்றம் தொடர்பான சிஓபி26 மாநாடு நடைபெற்றுவரும் நிலையில் ஜெர்மன்வாட்ச் என்ற அமைப்பு உலக நாடுகளின் பருவநிலை மாற்ற தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கைகள் குறியீட்டு அட்டவணையை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. இதன்படி இந்தியா தொடர்ந்து மூன்றாவது வருடமாக முதல் 10 இடங்களில் உள்ளது.
- 2022-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான அட்டவணையில் முதல் மூன்று இடங்களைப் பெறும் அளவுக்கு எந்த நாடும் சிறப்பாக செயல்படவில்லை என்பதால் முதல் மூன்று இடங்கள் காலியாக உள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. நான்காம் இடத்தில் டென்மார்க் உள்ளது.
- அட்டணையில் 10-ம் இடத்தில் இந்தியா உள்ளது. பருவநிலை மாற்ற தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளில் 2014-ல் 31-ம் இடத்தில் இருந்த இந்தியா படிப்படியாக முன்னேறி 2019-ல் 9-ம் இடத்தை அடைந்தது.
- 2020-ல் 10-ம் இடத்தை அடைந்த நிலையில், கரோனா நெருக்கடி காலத்திலும் பருவநிலை மாற்ற தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளில் சமரசம் செய்துகொள்ளாததன் மூலம் 2021-ல் 10-ம் இடத்தை மீண்டும் தக்கவைத்துக்கொண்டுள்ளது.
- சுற்றுச்சூழல் மாசுபாட்டில் அதிகமாகப் பங்கு வகிக்கும் முதல் நாடாக உள்ள சீனா இந்த குறியீட்டு பட்டியலில் 37-ம் இடத்தில் உள்ளது. கடந்த ஆண்டு 33-ம் இடத்தில் இருந்த சீனா நான்கு இடங்கள் பின் தங்கியிருக்கிறது. மாசுபடுத்தலில் 2-ம் இடத்தில் உள்ள அமெரிக்கா இந்தப் பட்டியலில் 55-வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.
- உலகின் மொத்த ஜிஎஹ்ஜி வெளியீடுகளில் 75 சதவீதம் பங்குவகிக்கிற ஜி20 நாடுகளில் இப்பட்டியலில் இங்கிலாந்து 7-ம் இடத்திலும் இந்தியா 10-ம் இடத்திலும், ஜெர்மனி 13-ம் இடத்திலும் மற்றும் பிரான்ஸ் 17-வது இடத்திலும் உள்ளன.
- ஜி20 நாடுகளில் 11 நாடுகள் பட்டியலில் மிக மோசமான செயல்பாடு கொண்ட நாடுகளாக உள்ளன. அவற்றில் முதன்மையாக உள்ள சவுதி அரேபியா பட்டியலில் 63-ம் இடத்தில் உள்ளது.
- GermanWatch has released the World Climate Change Prevention Index ahead of the COP26 Conference on Climate Change in Glasgow, UK. This puts India in the top 10 for the third year in a row.
- The first three places are reported to be vacant as no country has performed well enough to get the top three places in the 2022 table. In fourth place is Denmark. India ranks 10th in the table. India, which was ranked 31st in 2014 in terms of climate change mitigation measures, has gradually progressed to 9th in 2019.
- Having reached 10th place in 2020, Corona has managed to retain 10th place in 2021 by not compromising on climate change mitigation measures even during the crisis. China is the 37th largest polluter in the world. China, which was ranked 33rd last year, is four places behind. The United States ranks 2nd in pollution and 55th on the list.
- The G20 countries account for 75 per cent of the world's GHG emissions, with the UK at 7th, India at 10th, Germany at 13th and France at 17th. Eleven of the G20 countries are on the list of worst performing countries. Saudi Arabia, the first of them, is ranked 63rd on the list.
