Southern Railway General Manager launches eco-friendly green locomotive

• An eco-friendly and pollution control locomotive (Green 3.0) has been developed at the Chennai Kottam Chap of the Southern Railway. It can be converted to both power and battery. The first green double-track locomotive was ready on October 6 last year.
• Subsequently, 4 more engines were converted to green mode in the hexagonal electric engine workshop. Southern Railway General Manager Jantamas inaugurated the operation of the Green Train locomotive, which is currently being developed.
• This green train is capable of dragging 24 boxes on battery. Battery power lasts from three and a half hours to 4 hours. After this, it can be electrified and used. It is not only environmentally friendly but also cost effective.

Tata acquires Air India again after 68 years

• Air India, a state-owned company, continued to operate at a loss of revenue. The U.S. government has since taken steps to sell the company over the past few years. Defeating SpiceJet, which participated in the auction, for Rs. Tata Sons has bid Rs 18,000 crore.
• Tata Sons, a division of Tata Sons, has won the A India auction. The winning bid was approved by a panel comprising Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nimala Sitharaman, Trade and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Cynthia on April 4.
• A 100 per cent stake in Ao India at Rs. Tata Sons has bid for Rs 18,000 crore. Rs. 15,300 crore and the remaining Rs. Tata Sons has to pay Rs 2,700 crore in cash. The auction is expected to be completed by December.
• According to the bidding process, Tata will not be able to change its A India identity (brand) and logo (logo) for 5 years. After five years only Napas belonging to India can exchange or sell them.

The Union Minister inaugurated the Malabar Group Gallery at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai

• At the World's Fair 2020 in Dubai, Malabar Gold & Diamonds showcased the craftsmanship and artistry of Indian jewelery and its diverse cultural heritage.
• Union Industry Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated and visited the Indian Gallery. At the time, he praised the brand’s trust in the world, traditional artistry and international representation of Indian handicrafts.

• A State Level Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA Committee) has been set up under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
• In this committee, the Minister of Rural Development will be their Deputy Chairman and the Principal Secretary of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats will be their Member Secretary Palani Manikkam, A.Rasa, M.Selvaraj. P.R. Nadarajan,
• Members of the Legislative Assembly nominated by the State Government are Mr. VG Rajendran, Dr. Na. Ezhilan, Mr. DKG Neelamegam, Mr. M. Bhuminathan, Mr. J.M.H. Asan Maulana and Mr. KA Senkottayan.
• The task of the committee is to review the status quo, to evaluate the performance of human resources involved by the State Government in the implementation of various development projects, to address barriers to the implementation of development projects and to make appropriate amendments to improve or neutralize the design of approved projects.

Junior World Cup Sniper - India won 3 medals including gold

Anshu Malik became the first Indian wrestler to win silver at the World Wrestling Championships

• He became the first Indian wrestler to win a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championships.
• Anshu Malik, a 19-year-old wrestler, competed in the women's 57kg weight category at the World Wrestling Championships. In the final, she competed against American athlete, 2016 Olympic medalist Helen, but lost. Thus he got the silver medal.
• Previously, Geeta Bogat (2012), Babita Bogat (2012), Pooja Danda (2018) and Vinesh Bogat (2019) have won bronze medals at the World Wrestling Championships.
