Sunil Chetri equaled Pele's record for most goals for a national team

• The 13th season of the South Asian Football Championship Series is taking place in the Maldives. Five teams are participating, namely India, the 'current champions' Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
• India captain Sunil Chhetri 37. He scored a goal in his 123rd match yesterday. Cristiano Ronaldo (112, Portugal), Messi (80, Argentina) and third-placed Ali Mahmoud (77, Iraq) share the most goals for the national team. Both scored 77 goals each.
• Apart from that, Sunil Chhetri equaled the record of Brazilian legend Pele (77 goals, 92 matches) as the highest scoring player for the national team overall.

Spain International Chess - Inion Champion

• The La-Nucia International Open 2021 Chess Championship took place in Spain. The tournament, which started on October 5, was attended by 88 players from 14 countries, including India, Spain, Russia and Ukraine.
• Grandmaster P. Inian, a Tamil Nadu player, represented India. Inian, a student of Coimbatore College, won 6 rounds in 9 rounds and drew 2 rounds to clinch the title with 7 points.
• Grandmaster Rodrigo Vassius of Chile was 2nd and Grandmaster Andre Smith of Ukraine was 2nd in the series. In previous rounds, Inian defeated international leading Grandmasters such as Israel, Chile, Spain and Cuba.

A new project called Kathisakthi to improve the economy

• Kathisakthi means inspiration in Tamil. The plan was announced by Prime Minister Modi while addressing the 75th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in Delhi. Accordingly, the Prime Minister inaugurated the project at a function held at the Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
• Launched as part of the Autonomous India initiative, the "Inspiration" project is aimed at facilitating the next generation of facilities. As such, a dedicated website is to be developed to coordinate the work of the Cabinet in 16 departments, including railways and road transport.
• Software developed by ISRO is to be used for this project. This will monitor the day-to-day operations of the project through satellite imagery, which will be uploaded on a dedicated website from time to time and discussed.
• Under the "Kathisakthi" project, by the next financial year, 200 airports across the country, 2 lakh km. Facilities like increasing the national highway, pipeline gas service to 35 thousand km are to be brought.
• 202 fishing ports across the country will be upgraded. 4G facility will be introduced in all the villages in the country. New ones will be set up in various parts of the country, including textile and pharmacy zones, military corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fisheries and agricultural zones.

Chief Stalin began the work of melting the temple jewels

• The Chief Minister started the work of melting jewelery in the form of video conferencing at an online event. The Tamil Nadu government had announced plans to melt unused jewelery into Hindu biscuits at Hindu temples under the Trust Department in Tamil Nadu and invest it in banks.
• In the first phase, small jewelery donated by devotees in 47 temples across Tamil Nadu will be converted into gold nuggets.

• Reliance has entered into an agreement with Stestall for a project to produce green energy. Reliance has entered into an agreement with Stestall to manufacture and upgrade hydrogen electrolyzers.
• Headquartered in Odense, Denmark, Steidal is a company that manufactures and sells climate change technologies. The technology for their hydrogen electrolyzers reduces the production cost of electrolyzers. Thereby, green hydrogen prices can be reduced.
