The Governor of Tamil Nadu has appointed the Chairman of the Auroville Trust
- All development work on the Auroville International City is being carried out on behalf of the Auroville Foundation. Its chairman was a former MP. Karan Singh's term ended on November 23 last year.
- Following this, the Central Ministry of Education started the process of selecting the new chairman and members. Governor of Tamil Nadu Ravi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Auroville Trust.
- Dr. Nirma Oza, Writer, Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Center, Pondicherry, Aravindan Neelakandan, Writer and Gautam Koshal, Professor, West Bengal University have been appointed as members.
- Also present were Sarraju, Head of the Department of Dalit Adivasi, University of Hyderabad, Nandana Gaurappa Basappa, Professor of Political Science, University of Karnataka and 2 Secretaries of the Ministry of Education.
- Kolkata High Court Judge Rajesh Bindala has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Ranjit V. Morai as Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Karnataka High Court Judge SC Sharma as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court Judge Prakash Srivastava as Chief Justice of Kolkata High Court and Himachal Pradesh High Court Judge R.K. The apex court has recommended the appointment of VV Malimath as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Allahabad High Court Judge Raj Aswathy as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, Justice Prasanth Kumar Mishra as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and Justice Aravind Kumar as the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.
- The collegium also recommended the transfer of five more Chief Justices of the State High Court. Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Arup Kumar will be the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Mohammad Rafi will be the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Tripura High Court Chief Justice Akhil Qureshi will be the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court and Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Indrajith Magandi will be the Chief Justice. The Supreme Court last month recommended to the Collegium Union Government to transfer the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court as well.
- Following the approval of the Union Government, President Ramnath Govind has made the above appointments.
