- இந்தியாவில் கிராம்பின் மொத்த உற்பத்தி 1,100 மெட்ரிக் டன். இதில், 1,000 மெட்ரிக் டன் தமிழகத்தில் உற்பத்தியாகிறது. கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தில் மட்டும் 750 மெட்ரிக் டன் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படுகிறது.
- இந்தியாவிலேயே கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தில் சாகுபடியாகும் கிராம்பில், யூஜினால் அசிடேட் என்ற வேதிப்பொருள் அதிகளவில் இருப்பதால், வாசனை எண்ணெய் அதிகம் கிடைக்கிறது.

- Clove is cultivated in an area of 750 hectares in the Western Ghats of Kanyakumari district such as Maramalai, Karumpara, Velimalai and Mahendragiri. This is 73% of the total area under cloves in Tamil Nadu.
- Due to the moderate temperature prevailing in Kanyakumari district, the fragrances in the cramps evaporate in small quantities and concentrated essential oil is available. The buds, fallen leaves and stems of the clove tree are also used to make essential oils.
- In India, Kanyakumari district ranks first in the quality of cloves grown in the hills. Thus, with the help of the Kumari District Administration, the Maramalai Plantation Farmers' Association and the Karumpara Hill Farmers' Association have obtained the geographical code as `Kanyakumari Clove '.
- The total production of cramps in India is 1,100 MT. Of this, 1,000 metric tons is produced in Tamil Nadu. Kanyakumari district alone produces 750 MT. Cranberry, cultivated in Kanyakumari district of India, is rich in eugenol acetate.

- Kanyakumari district has already got the geographical code for the tall variety of coconut produced in Ithamozhi. In addition, they have asked for geo-coding for Marthandam honey, Nendran banana and Matti banana.
