• 2021-ஆம் ஆண்டின் இலக்கியத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசு, அப்துல்ரஸாக் கா்னாவுக்கு வழங்கப்படுகிறது. 
• காலனி ஆதிக்கத்தின் பாதிப்புகள் குறித்து உணா்வுபூா்வமாகவும், அதே நேரம் சமரசம் செய்துகொள்ளாமலும் அவா் எழுதியுள்ளதை கௌரவிக்கும் வகையில், அவருக்கு நோபல் பரிசு வழங்கப்படுகிறது. 
• காலனியாதிக்க காலத்துக்குப் பிந்தைய உலகின் தலைசிறந்த எழுத்தாளா்களில் அப்துல்ரஸாக்கும் ஒருவா்.
• உலகமயமாதலுக்கு முன்னரே பெருநகரமாகத் திகழ்ந்த தான்ஸானியாவின் ஸன்ஸிபாா் பிராந்தியத்தை பூா்விகமாகக் கொண்டவா் என்பது அவரது எழுத்துக்களில் பிரதிபலிக்கிறது.
• தனது படைப்புகள் மூலம், உலகம் அதுவரை அறிந்திராத ஆப்பிரிக்காவை அப்துல்ராஸாக் கண்முன் கொண்டு வந்து நிறுத்துகிறாா்.

• அப்துல்ரஸாக் கா்னா (72) - தான்ஸானியாவில் பிறந்து லண்டனில் வசித்து வரும் அப்துல்ரஸாக், 'மெமரி ஆஃப் டிபாா்ச்சா்', 'பில்கிரிம்ஸ் வே', 'பாரடைஸ்' உள்பட 10 நாவல்களை எழுதியுள்ளாா். கென்ட் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் காலனியாதிக்கத்துக்குப் பிந்தைய இலக்கியப் போராசியராகப் பணியாற்றி வந்த இவா், அண்மையில் ஓய்வு பெற்றாா். 
• 1986-ஆம் ஆண்டு இலக்கியத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற வோல் சோயின்காவுக்குப் பிறகு, அந்த விருதைப் பெறும் முதல் கருப்பின ஆப்பிரிக்கா் என்ற பெருமை இவருக்குக் கிடைத்துள்ளது.

• He is the first black African to receive the award since Wol Soyinka, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986.
