- ஐரோப்பிய நாடான ஸ்வீடனைச் சேர்ந்த விஞ்ஞானி ஆல்பிரட் நோபல் விருப்பப்படி, மருத்துவம், இயற்பியல், வேதியியல், இலக்கியம், அமைதிக்கான நோபல் பரிசுகள் ஆண்டுதோறும் வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.
- அதே நேரத்தில் அவரது நினைவாக, பொருளாதாரத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசும் வழங்கப்படுகிறது. ஏற்கனவே மற்ற துறைகளுக்கான பரிசுகள் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், பொருளாதாரத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசு பெறுவோரின் பெயர்கள் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டன.
- கனடாவைச் சேர்ந்த கலிபோர்னியா பல்கலை பேராசிரியர் டேவிட் கார்ட், இஸ்ரேலை பூர்வீகமாக உடைய மசாசூட்டர்ஸ் தொழில்நுட்ப மைய பேராசிரியர் ஜோஷூவா ஆங்கிரிஸ்ட், நெதர்லாந்தை பூர்வீகமாக உடைய ஸ்டான்போர்டு பல்கலை பேராசிரியர் குயிடோ இம்பென்ஸ் ஆகியோர் பொருளாதாரத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசை பகிர்ந்து கொள்கின்றனர்.
- இதில் பரிசுத் தொகையில் 50 சதவீதத்தை, டேவிட் கார்ட் பெறுவார். மீதமுள்ள 50 சதவீதத்தை மற்ற இருவரும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வர்.
- குறைந்தபட்ச ஊதியம், புலம் பெயர்தல், கல்வி ஆகியவற்றில் தொழிலாளர் சந்தை எவ்வித தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது என்பது தொடர்பான ஆய்வுக்காக, இவர்கள் நோபல் பரிசுக்கு தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தேர்வுக் குழுவினர் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

- David Kart will receive 50 percent of the prize money. The other 50 percent will be shared by the other two. The panel said they had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for their study of the impact of the labor market on minimum wages, migration and education.
