Rs 10,000 crore fund for textile production - Central government approval

  • The central government had announced that a production-based incentive scheme for 13 sectors at a cost of Rs 1.97 lakh crore would be announced in the current Union Budget for the current year.
  • As part of this, the Central Government has approved an allocation of Rs. 10,683 crore for a production-based incentive scheme for the textile sector. The plan was approved at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • The incentive will be provided for the next five years to boost domestic production and exports in the textile sector. Through this, an additional 7.5 lakh direct jobs and several lakh indirect jobs are expected to be created.
  • The government has projected a new investment of Rs 19,000 crore and a total revenue of Rs 3 lakh crore in the textile sector in five years through this production-based incentive scheme.
  • Six states, including Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, are projected to benefit the most from the scheme.
Baby Rani Maurya resigns as Governor of Uttarakhand
  • Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya has resigned from her post. He also resigned and sent a letter of resignation to the President.

Adithravidar, Tribal Welfare Commission - Chief Minister's announcement
  • At the state level, a new body, the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar, Tribal Welfare Commission, will be set up to protect the legal rights of Adithravidars and tribals and to address their key issues. The government will legislate to create a commission that will function with autonomous powers. The draft law will be tabled in this Assembly series
  • Training classes for teachers, intellectual class, computer training etc. will be implemented under the guidance of the school education department to improve the quality of education of the schools functioning under the Adithra Welfare Department.
  • Following the management of the schools, the Adithravidar and Tribal Welfare Departments will be in charge. The school education department will not interfere in them. There are currently 18 Special Courts in Tamil Nadu to expedite the disposal of cases filed under the Prevention of Torture Act. In addition, orders have been issued to set up four new courts.
  • Apart from this, additional courts will be set up in districts like Salem, Krishnagiri, Madurai and Tirunelveli where cases are pending. Awareness trainings on 'We will see equality' will be conducted for police and revenue officers to approach victims of violence from a community perspective and provide proper relief and guarantee for a prosperous future.
  • In Tamil Nadu, in many villages, cemeteries without caste distinctions are in use. On behalf of the government, a prize of Rs. Victims of torture are currently being paid between Rs. 85,000 and Rs. 8.25 lakh, depending on the nature of the case. Now this amount is at least, 1 lakh rupees; A maximum of Rs 12 lakh will be raised through state government funds.
Tamil Nadu team wins National Beach Texball Championship
  • On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Texball Association, the first national level Texball Championship with the support of the Indian Texball Federation was held at the Mamallapuram Tourist Club Hotel Grounds. 170 athletes from 18 states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka participated.
  • At the end of the final match of the 4-day series, the Tamil Nadu team clinched the overall title. Maharashtra won the 2nd place and Gujarat won the 3rd place.
