Vocational training for 50,000 people in railways in next 3 years - Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnav
- Union Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnav has inaugurated a railway skill development training program in Delhi under the 'Prime Minister's Free Vocational Development Program' launched to help the youth of the country get employment.
- Accordingly, the training will be imparted at 75 railway training centers across the country. Training is provided at the Chennai Perambur Garage and the workshops at Bothanur on the Southern Railway. Similar training has been started in Chennai ICF.

- The GST levied by the state government on national permit vehicles carrying goods is exempt. GST on goods exported by ship and air is exempt for one year.
- At the same time, the council has approved tax increases on certain products. The tax on ores and their concentrations, including iron, manganese, copper, nickel, cobalt, aluminum, lead, zinc and chromium, has been raised from 5 per cent to 18 per cent.
- The tax on locomotive parts has been raised to 18 per cent. Zwicky and Somato, which operate as food delivery companies through a cell phone processor, have been brought within the GST range.
- These are not newly taxed. But they have to pay GST directly on the food item being delivered. This is arranged to avoid some irregularities in the amount of GST levied from the restaurant.
